Pours a viscous-looking black body with a tiny medium brown head consisting of a few short-lived bubbles that doesn’t leave much lacing. Malty, sweet and strong aroma of dark caramel, chocolate and vanilla, with brown sugar, coffee, wood and bark in the back, and additional hints of alcohol and bourbon. Strong roasted flavour of chocolate and coffee, with lots of sweet boozy vanilla and woody notes. Are you sure this beer hasn’t been matured in bourbon barrels? It’s a very sweet brew with a moderate bitterness in the long finish. Full-bodied and with a pleasant oily texture, but the carbonation is a bit too close to flat for my liking. A lovely imperial stout, even though the Revelation Cat logo is a bit scary: http://imgur.com/Lb3IzYf .

Bottle. It pours opaque black with a creamy beige head. Sweet heavy malty aroma with some sugary and ripe fruity notes. Vanilla is noticeable in the background. No ashy notes and the roasted notes are quite hidden. Sweet vanilla flavor with some sweet roasted notes. Light chocolate and dried fruits. Quite sweet for an imperial stout but it kind of hides the alcohol. Well made, Alex.

Rating # 500! 330 ml, flaske, 13,0 % ABV, gave fra laboko - tak! 8. december 2014.

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Pours almost black with a beautyful dense brown head. Smell of liquorice, roast and toast, dark malts, coffee, dark fruits and chocolate. Heavy sweet, alot of vanilla, i thought first of bourbon, but i found no booze; more chocolate, lactose, roast and some dark fruits. Very sinful stuff. Ends with moderate bitterness and earthy hops.

330 mml bottle tasted on the 09/11/2014. Black with no bubbles and no head. Aroma of intense licorice, roasted malts and toffee. Taste is predominated by the licorice and the alcohol with presence of milk. Very sweet on the mouth. Aftertaste is sweet and intense licorice. Low carbonation. Next one please!

Botle @ Home. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, licorice, little chocolate, alcohol. Flavor is malt, roast, coffee notes, loads of licorice, some booze. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel , average carbonation, warming alcoholic finish. Nice, but rather simple and way to much alcohol. 091114
