2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a completely opaque brown-black with a very small red-tan head and no legs. Aroma is liquorice, raisin, acidic burnt malt, a little bit of coffee. Taste is very sharp acidic burnt roasted malt and more syrupy raisin liquorice. Not pleasant - quite harsh and acidic and sweet. Every single Revelation Cat beer I've tasted has been a disappointment.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pitch black pour. Almost zero carbonation. Very still. Salty licorice and raisin aroma. Big sickly sweet raisiny taste followed by hops followed by salty bitterness. Interesting, better than most of the revelation cats, but not something I'd repeat.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle kindly shared by Gunnfryd. Inky black body. Bubbly ring at the surface. Bitter liquorice nose, mid-dry. Black malty flavours with a solid touch of cocoa and liquorice. Lingering malt bitter ending. Nice big beer, slow sipper, indeed (Tour de Østfold, RBNG 15.02.2014).

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, at 42. It pours a black body under a small, tan head. Lots of molasses in the aroma, with roasted malts, coffee and salty licorice. Lots of flavor, salty licorice, roasted malts, coffee and some dark chocolate. A tad too warning. Full body, sweet on the palate. Really lasting finish, with lots of salty licorice. Although too sweet and warming, sure a nice one. 140215

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
330 ml bottle @ RIP camp. Thanks to the guys at Rosses i Torrades, Barcelona.
Pours a pitch black colour with a small beigeish head. Aroma is very rich with roasted malts, orange zest, floral notes, wood, salty licorice, strong floral hops. Flavour is very extreme; long lingering fresh floral bitterness, salty licorice, orange zest, mudcake, grapefruit, charcoal, roasted malts and dark chocolate. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a long, warming, very bitter, licorice, roasty, chocolate finish. It’s hard to say how extreme this beer is, but it’s probably one of the most extreme beers I’ve ever. The bitterness here is very extreme, but in addition to that the balance is extremely pleasant. Oh man, this is so good. At first, 4.5 but after a while the amount of bitterness gets stronger and the maltiness accompanies it even better. Perfect balance. I have to give this a 4.6, it’s just that good. I need more. Immediately. Also, clearly one of the best beers I’ve ever tasted.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
33 cl bottle @ RIP camp, BBE 2018
An aroma unexpected – some toffee typical to British ales, licorice and some grass. Flavour is rather hoppy with licorice, some toffee typical to British ales. Also rather strong boozy notes – and also strong salty licorice notes on some sips. What is this shit? Finishes with forever lingering hops. Not sure what to say about this but at least this is salty, boozy and hoppy.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle @ RIP Camp. Thanks lusikka!
Pours pitch black with a bubbly white head. Aroma of grassy, bitter, fruity hops, roastiness, sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, wood, licorice and grass. Taste is insanely hoppy and bitter with notes of licorice, roastiness, dark ripe fruity, caramely and sweetish with notes of dark chocolate and wood. Finish is long lasting, lingering bitter, insanely hoppy and dark fruity with hints of chocolate and licorice. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Wow, this is quite extreme stuff. As a hophead you just gotta love this. Every sip feels like a different beer, the bitterness, roastiness and hoppiness just keeps on coming. Awesome stuff! Just... WOW! Tried this after Bells Black Note Stout and this is MUCH more better than it. I just love massively hoppy imperial stouts and this one is right up my alley.
