4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
330 ml bottle @ RIP camp. Thanks to the guys at Rosses i Torrades, Barcelona.
Pours a pitch black colour with a small beigeish head. Aroma is very rich with roasted malts, orange zest, floral notes, wood, salty licorice, strong floral hops. Flavour is very extreme; long lingering fresh floral bitterness, salty licorice, orange zest, mudcake, grapefruit, charcoal, roasted malts and dark chocolate. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and a long, warming, very bitter, licorice, roasty, chocolate finish. Itís hard to say how extreme this beer is, but itís probably one of the most extreme beers Iíve ever. The bitterness here is very extreme, but in addition to that the balance is extremely pleasant. Oh man, this is so good. At first, 4.5 but after a while the amount of bitterness gets stronger and the maltiness accompanies it even better. Perfect balance. I have to give this a 4.6, itís just that good. I need more. Immediately. Also, clearly one of the best beers Iíve ever tasted.

33 cl bottle @ RIP camp, BBE 2018
An aroma unexpected Ė some toffee typical to British ales, licorice and some grass. Flavour is rather hoppy with licorice, some toffee typical to British ales. Also rather strong boozy notes Ė and also strong salty licorice notes on some sips. What is this shit? Finishes with forever lingering hops. Not sure what to say about this but at least this is salty, boozy and hoppy.

330ml bottle @ RIP Camp. Thanks lusikka!
Pours pitch black with a bubbly white head. Aroma of grassy, bitter, fruity hops, roastiness, sweet dark chocolate, vanilla, wood, licorice and grass. Taste is insanely hoppy and bitter with notes of licorice, roastiness, dark ripe fruity, caramely and sweetish with notes of dark chocolate and wood. Finish is long lasting, lingering bitter, insanely hoppy and dark fruity with hints of chocolate and licorice. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Wow, this is quite extreme stuff. As a hophead you just gotta love this. Every sip feels like a different beer, the bitterness, roastiness and hoppiness just keeps on coming. Awesome stuff! Just... WOW! Tried this after Bells Black Note Stout and this is MUCH more better than it. I just love massively hoppy imperial stouts and this one is right up my alley.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
33 cl bottle @ RIP Camp.
Pours jet black color with a small beige head. Aroma of orange, roasted malts, cocoa, some chocolate and caramel. Flavor of chocolate, cocoa powder, caramel, vanilla and some hop notes. Very odd palate on this one, salty licorice and hops linger forever and ever with a very rude salty finish. A very odd and definitely unique brew, canít quite decide if I like it or not, which is a good thing I guess.

Bottled 0,33L. Dark impenetrable color, intense nut creamy head of medium perception. Overbanding alcoholic and braced nose, notes of ash, roast cereals, cellar. Powerfull and solid body, full of flavour taste, very bitter and roasty alcoholic final.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Brasserie 420, Roma, 21/06/13.
Pitch black with a dirty tan head that clears to the edge leaving a film.
Nose is big roast malt, burnt sugar, treacle toffee, dark malt, light booze but not overbearing for the ABV.
Taste comprises booze, a little harsh in contrast to the nose, sugars, treacle, bitter chocolate, burnt toffee, molasses, light soap.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, a little cloying.
Drinkable fayre for the ABV but overall the alcohol was a little harsh when compared to other big beers Iíve had. The booze could have been a little better integrated.
