Bottle 500ml.

[ Trade by Mortlach ]. [ Bottle # 606/1650 ]. Dark black colour with a average to large, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light brown head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, licroce (lakrids konfekt). Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate, vanilla, dark chocolate, sweet. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy and smooth, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20121230]

50 cl bottle, courtesy of Mortlach. Pours pitch black and with a small, dense and chocolate brown head. Dense vanilla, chocolate and dark toffee malty. Rich chocolate, dense malty, light alcohol and smooth dark chocolate. Rather dry and bitter. Light touch of overripe fruits. Dark chocolate and alcohol warming finish.

Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate licorice aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and licorice flavor with weak hints of coffee. Has a roasted malty thick smooth chocolate finish with hints of licorice.

Bottle at home - thanks a lot to Alex - shared with Mette. Pitch blacl - nice brown head. High malty, ok rather high burned malts, licorice, some acid from the burned malts, light alcoholic notes, some red berries, coffee, tobacco, dark sugar, some sweetness, dark dark chocolate. Lovely high drinkability.

50cl bottle, thanks Travlr. Minimal tan head atop black body with brown edge. Aroma is moderately sweet. roast, some alcohol, bittersweet chocolate. Taste is sweet, roast, bittersweet chocolate, some alcohol. Sticky full body, low carbonation.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours midnight black with a small, fat bubbled, khaki head. Decent retention. The nose furnishes fudge, pouch tobacco, fruity jam, walnut shell, a splash of red wine and a touch of alcohol. Full-bodied and oily with only a trace carbonation. The chocolaty, fruity-jam flavor is plenty sweet and quite interesting. Lots of pleasant esters and phenols here. Finishes with dark fruit and a swirl of mocha. Amazingly, the relatively high alcohol content of this beer is not at all overbearing. Kudos to 50belair for sharing this world class bottle of brew!

Bottle courtesy of Alex420, grazie signore! Very dark maroon color, almost flat. Aroma of caffe macchiato and dark chocolate syrup. Taste is rich, oily concentrated espresso and sweet milk chocolate. Very tasty.

Bottle at A Drink To The End Of Days, 121220. Thanks to Alex. Pitch black beer with a nice small brownish head. Chocolate aroma, licorice, cocoa powder, vinous, figs, raisins, cocoa powder, some bitterness, vanilla, milky, woody notes. Vanilla flavor, chocolate, licorice, caramel, milk, cocoa powder, woody, figs, raisins, sweetish, roasted, dry, whisky notes. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a medium, creamy tan head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is dark chocolate and roast malt with earthy hops, prunes and dates with cookie notes. Flavor is malt dominant with dark fruity esters, light hops and medium bitterness with a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

500mL thanks to Travlr via Alex. Thanks! Pours ink, weak head, black black. Nose is milk chocolate, soy, fennel, tootsie roll. Taste is tootsie roll, milk chocolate, toffee, sweet chocolate/candies. Palate is thick, sticky. Sweeter than expected, approaching cloying.
