On tap @ Schouskjelleren. Almost clear, dark reddish amber with a moderate sized beige head. Nice aroma of sweet malt, dry fruit and acidic berries with a hint of chocolate. Flavor is sweet malty, dry fruit, berries, acidity and light funky brett. Fine body and a pleasant aftertaste. A bit surprising in flavor, still very drinkable with dangerously well hidden alcohol.

On tap @ Schouskjelleren, Oslo. After a whole night of premiere-drinking Norwegian Christmas beers (read: sweet, malty stuff) a sour ale is JUST what the doctor ordered. Or, at least what I ordered at the bar at Schouskjelleren. :-P Pours a hazy deep rust-red body with a medium creamy off-white head. Nose is peppery vinegar, wood, red berries, lacto-sour tones and hints of straw and lemon. Taste is tart, grainy apple vinegar notes, wood and hints of red grapes. Light body, soft carbonation and an incredibly well-hidden ABV which makes for a helluva drinkability and becomes very deceptive in a sour beer, as they usually range much lower. Oh well. This is a fine sour, high alcohol or not.

On tap (25cl) at Schouskjelleren, Oslo. Murky, very dark brown colour. Small offwhite head that disappears. Aroma of sour cherries and malt. Medium/full body, flat carbonation. Taste is a fascinating mix of cherry juice and malt - highly drinkable at this ABV. Feels somewhat experimental, but rather enjoyable, too.

On tap at Schouskjelleren. dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is sourness, malt, yeast, berries. Flavour is sourness, malt, yeast, brett, berries, alcohol. Very nice beer.

On tap at Schouskjelleren, Oslo. Deep red, thin tan head. Soot/charcoal, redcurrants, vinegar. The sourness makes this deceivingly light. Long sour tail.
