2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
20th February 2014
Fare thee well Josh tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to Colin. Hazy dark gold beer, small bubbly white head. Palate is smooth, light and dry. Mild fine carbonation. Oxidised tasting caramel malt. Mildly bitter piney hops. Light dry finish. Not terrible but it doesn’t feel right for this brewer.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle shared in London for my farewell drinks. Cheers to Colin. Pours hazy goldenw ith a small frothy white head. Nose is lemon curd, sweet and floral, slightly soapy and earthy. Taste is a little all over the place - lemon curd, cheesecake, flowers, orange tang, stale toffee. Very oxidised. Not good

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared at Josh’s Farewell Hoorah - acquired from Brasserie 4:20 some 10 days prior, 20/02/14.
Hazed orange/light amber with a moderate off white covering.
Nose is damp flannel, dank hops notes, bitter orange, straw, light peach, lightly oxidised effect.
Taste comprises toffee apple, earthy resonance, bread dough, bitter orange, over ripe melon.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Not great, pretty sub par for style, I’m sure the bottle had a use by date later into 2014 but this felt like it had been sitting around for a while.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours murky golden brown with a small beige head. The nose is dirty, stewed orange, peach, earthy, wood, must and faint spice. The taste is wood, earth, dirt, orange peel, faint peach, light alcohol and grapefruit with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Very ho hum. So-so.

Bottle shared in London as our way of saying goodbye to Josh. Thanks to Colin. Pours hazy gold with a bubbly white head. The nose has caramel, bread and lightly toasted pine. Light sweet flavor, pretty thin, perhaps a bit oxidized. Some further caramel, bread, orange, pine. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, more bread, caramel, faint metal. Pretty poor.

Bottle to regular glass at home. Pours hazy orange with small white head. Earthy and grassy notes, pleasant, uncommon. Herbal, spicy bitterness and dry, thin body. Funky. Long, dry finish. Worth drinking, pleasant and original experience.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20

330ml bottle from Impexbeer
SELL BY 26.05.14 - Pours hazy yellowish orange with a small white head. Aroma of tart orange juice, loads of grassy hops, hints of citrus and sweet caramely notes. Taste is tartish with loads of orange peel, zesty fruits, funky bitterness and lemon. Finish is tart, bitter, sweetish and malty with massive amounts of orange peel. Quite strange and untypical hop juice, but somehow still tasty.
