[10/15/13] Hand-pump at Brasserie 4:20 in Rome. 6.5%. Cloudy orange. Lovely barnyard aroma with oak and some lemony notes. Sour and funky flavor with lots of oak, some bitternesss and an astringent finish. Medium-bodied.

Tap at Øltorget, may 10th 2013. Cloudy yellow body, minimal white head. Aroma of sour berries, pepper, clove, wood. Taste is superdry and not very acidic, with grapes, melon, and a spicy finish. Wood is very present in taste too.

On tap @ Øltorget. The last drops from the keg. It pours a blurry deep golden body with a thin small sidesticking white top. What a lovely aroma! Raspberries, raspberries, raspberries and some lime zest. Smells amazing. It has a soft prickling carbonation level with a light oily mouthfeel. The raspberries sticks in the taste, but it’s more mellow. Really fruity, but there is also some wet grainy tones here that I’m not so found of. A bit acidic soft vinegar in the finish and aftertaste. Drymouthing finish. Could be that it had a little bit of zwet.be in it as the keg was just empty. Stingy! 24.05.2013

Small shortlasting head. Aroma is lots of tart raspberries (artificial sweet fruity like Liefmans Fruitesse), heather, grass, sugar. Taste is slightly sour and fruity, tart raspberries, vinegar, grass, sorrel. A little dry mouthfeel. Interesting beer, but not a winner.

Cloudy yellow, thin head. Sour lambic aroma, ,mouthwatering. Fruity sweetness, vinegar edge, some cask character, but not much. Dessert wine giving pleasant flavour. White currants.

22/01/2013 Brasserie 4:20 (handpump). Dorata spenta, abbastanza limpida, schiuma sottile, morbida e persistente. Aroma meraviglioso, con note di lieviti selvatici stemperate da sentori di vino passito, di incredibile armonia e pulizia. In bocca sorprende con la sua morbidezza e rotondità, note dolciastre di vino passito stemperano l’acidità. Corpo medio, carbonazione soft. Sopraffina!

Unclear medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy tart, horse blanket, barnyard, light wood. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a long duration, dry, grape tart, wood, barnyard, tart, spicy notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

So a marsala-barrel lambic? Cloudy and dull amber. Smells like drie fonteinen, with a bit more cheese, a delicate acidity (for lambic), like this has been softened. I could see this refreshing me.
