Countbeer (2853) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAR 5, 2012
Bottle: Small white head change quick into lacing than again disappears quick completely. Hazy orange colored beer. Smell apples, yeast, wood, cider. Taste is a dofferent/special mix of bitter, fruit, apple, peach, watermelon, hops. The bitterness seems to keep growing. Not your usual dipa. Good bitter with many apple notes. Aftertaste is again good bitter with some yeasty apple notes. Low to no carbo, watery to light creamy mouthfeel, medium to full body and a watery texture. Interesting beer and wood choice. Like a special oak aged cider.

07/07/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (375ml bottle). Bellissimo color ambrato intenso limpidissimo, buona schiuma biancastra pannosa, molto persistente. Aroma intenso di malto, caramello, luppolo, alcool, con evidenti note legnosea. In bocca è molto alcolica, caramellata, luppolata, con note astringenti date dalla botte. Incredibilmente complessa. Corpo pieno, carbonazione corretta. Una DIPA aggressiva e di gran carattere.

Bottle. Dark orange with a fluffy white head. Floral and earthy citrus and wood aroma. Tangy citrus, pineapple, caramel, light vanilla, and wood taste with a bright lively palate.

bottle... murky burnt orange, light tan head, leaves a finger cap no lace... very strong aroma, alcohol, vanilla, a little wet dog, very wood finish, lots of malt, not bad but not right either... the taste is just boring, most of the flavors on the aroma are gone, just a super malty lightly wood tasting beer... meh

hopscotch (8217) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 8, 2011
Bottle… Cloudy caramel-colored ale with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Excellent retention. The bouquet is estery and leathery, presenting additional notes of raisin and dried plum. Medium-bodied and sand-papery with fizzy carbonation. Woody flavor. Also some vinous notes intermingling with moderately bitter tannins. Finishes bitter and Sahara-dry. Abrasively over-attenuated. Zero residual sugar, it seems. 11% abv? Definitely would not have guessed that. Drinks more like 4%. Bottle generously shared by landhoney!

Bottle thanks to Seth. Burnt orange pour with an off white head. Hoppy with bitter orange, butterscotch, and and caramel malt flavors.

erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - NOV 23, 2011
Golden copper body again here with a tiny white head. Some more fruit this time around, plus the wood character and light yeast accompanied with dry leaves and grapes. Starts out quite harsh - even though there’s a light sweet contrast - and then evens out into a longer dry, leathery taste. Salty even. This one concludes my series tasting and (unfortunately?) the reference, non-aged version wins overall for me. It doesn’t hide the alcohol as well but adds a balanced and smoothing sweetness that’s lost in the woody characters.

Bottle shared with friends. Similar appearance to others in the series. Not particularly different and certainly very little oak in the flavour
