3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled Hazy orange, small head.
Slightly more lively then the reference version. There is a mere whiff of vanilla, then it’s more or less exactly the same as the reference beer. Barrel aging of double IPAs is always a silly idea.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

Like the other wooden versions, it has less fruity character, more sweat, some lemon aroma too; alcohol. The flavor is very similar, difficult to find wood differences, maybe also due to the additional ageing.
2009-05-15, bottle at Københavnske Øldage 2009, 7-4-7-4-14=36
Hazy golden color; medium head. Differently from the French Oak, in this case the vanilla is clear, it mixes well with the passion fruit, creating even a flowery touch. Good body, dry malt flavor, strong bitterness, long final. Good.
