2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
bottle conditioned 375ml. brown orange, iced tea bubble head. sweaty orange syrup liqueur, oxidized oak vanillin and buttery honey. harsh malt edges, harsh alcohol, the only thing that seems in place is the carbonation. sour peat notes show up later, and throughout it remains excessively bitter and pungent, and frankly unappetizing. extremely messy. I don’t enjoy drinking starchy potato and grape flavored beer, that’s usually reserved for well drinks. this was not fun.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Corvallis Brew Supply, Corvallis. Aroma caramel, vanilla, toffee, more sweetness than French Oak. Fluffier body, more warming than French; pick of the litter, pun intended.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared at Chriso’s post GBBF minidig, 16/08/14 acquired from Brasserie 420 in Feb ’14.
Hazed orange amber with moderate off white spotting and edgework.
Nose carries big woody vibes, spice, caramel malt, bitter orange, light tropicana, jammy apricot, oak barrel.
Taste comprises bitter tropicals, spice, orange pith, oaky wood, pine.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Hops have faded slightly, more melding towards a barley wine/american strong but still a tasty number.

Fruity, soft. Lots of aok and vanilla, but a very modest beer underneath. Not all the experiments are successful, but keep them coming!

Small white head. Hazy amber body. Wooden vinous tropical fruit aroma. Dry-sweet peachy vinegary taste with chalky notes. Mid-to-light body. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish peachy chalky aftertaste. Sharp, edgy, not very drinkable. (0.375l bottle, not sure where from.)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Oh gosh, 4 year old wood aged DIPA, I know, I know... Golden to amber color. No head, low carbonation, but there still is. Aroma’s: herbal, lychee (so still Nelson!) with still quite strong wood notes retronasal and some caramel. Flavor is light bitter, acidic, slightly malty, biscuity, caramel-ish. Drinks remarkably easy. Finishes with medium bitterness. Not really fair to still rate this but due to lack of fresh bottles....
