Woody aroma. Hazy blond/amber pour. Slightly bitter. Very nice!
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Habanero (1671) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK - AUG 26, 2011
Bottled. Pours slightly hazy, amber with a medium sized off-white head, that’s leaves some fair lacings. Fruity nose and course with a strong suggestion of passionfrui and notes of yeast. Flavour again with citrus, passionfruit and caramel notes. Medium to full bodied, creamy to oily texture and lively carbonation. Ends up nice bitter and with an alcohol touch. An excellent brew, so I can’t wait to try a barrel aged.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 SSSteve (3379) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - AUG 24, 2011
bottle at tasting. a dark gold beer with a large white head. the base beer was quite simple. a good experimental idea in theory, although, i think the wood aged version needed a longer time in the barrel.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Kristall-König (1843) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - AUG 12, 2011
Sehr gut gelungen. Ein prima Bier.Test vom 10.2.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Flaska på Pikkulintu 2011. Maltig doft, diskreta humletoner och tyvärr ingen stor smakssensation.

base beer bottle next to french and american at dak’s 8/14/10.
hazy. yellowy tinted brownish amber color with a creamy tan head.
the aroma is really malty and full of caramel. the other notes include orange, peach, onion and something vegetal.
the flavor is the same but quite sweet. it does manage to get spicy on the finish as it dries out.
it is full bodied, slick and very alcoholic. 7/4/6/3/15
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 gyllenbock (2967) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 20, 2011
Bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki in July 2011.
Copper with a large head. The aroma reminded a bit of a Barley Wine, so not your typical DIPA. Not that fruits in the taste, but a lot of toffee. Still a descent beer, but quite special indeed.

Paper covered 375mL bottle pours murky copper – brown with full tall creamy tan head. The aroma has smooth soft wood notes, sweet citrus and some malts. These aromatics seem harmonious and inviting. The taste is similar with smooth wood, smooth spicy oak and firm varied citrus hop notes. The hops and smooth oak head into the finish with a slippery smooth ease. This is yummy.

I believe the bottle said WoodWork Series Base. The colour to me was perfect. A pretty mix of yellow, orange and amber. Hard to describe. Taste and smell are decent. Mouthfeel ruins it a bit for me. Lots and lots of large CO2 bubbles.
