3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at sampling session. Thanks to KyotoLefty. From notes (Oct. 8, 2011). Rich caramel and grass nose. Light orange color. Mild caramel maltiness. A bit thin for the high alc. Alright but not a keeper.

Bottle from Corvallis Brew Supply, Corvallis. Pours a deep brown/amber. Some off white head. Aroma caramel, resin, dried oranges. Body lush and full, slippery finish with some Graham cracker notes. Could be more broken down, not bad.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
"the base (unbarreled) beer in The Woodwork Series, but the only one we’ve seen so far. nice spicy hop aroma, with some heavy musty malts in the aroma as well. pretty dark orange. full bodied for the style, a touch sticky and a touch hot. the alcohol is prevalent all the way through, but the flavor is very nice bittersweet pine and spice."

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
375 ml bottle. The Woodwork Series Base. Wood aging time 7 days. Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Finland.
Hazy amber colour with a big foamy off-white head. The aroma is very malty, very very malty. Some citrusy and soapy hops and even more malt. The flavour is strong. Malty it is. Maybe the different aging would give some depth and dimension? But all the percents, all 11, very well hidden. Some hoppiness in the aftertaste. Not bad.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Richmond 19th, another interesting series here. Medium brown, aroma caramel, crème brulee, flavor is a match, with some faded hop bitterness on the finish. Some of that aged bready yeastiness on the finish. Rather liked this one.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at the Richmond Gathering 19. Hazy amber orange with good offwhite head. Not much of anything. The sweet caramel and a little white grape juice. A good amount of caramel sweetness, and a balance of a decent amount of hop bitterness, but almost no hop flavor. Hides the abv quite nicely though. A little yeasty. Pretty tasty though.
