Bottle shared by Brandon, thanks! Pour is dirty brown with a thin tan head. Aroma and flavor is really sweet and malty. The rum really comes through and is a little abrasive. Smooths out as it warms. Sweet and hot. Nice beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: The body is not perfectly clear, but I wouldnít expect so from a wheat heavy beer aged in oak barrels. The color is a deep chestnut with garnet through. Not much head to note, even on the pour.
Aroma: At first the aroma is sweet of brown sugar, toffee and caramel, but dark fruits peek through with oak and some rum aromas, but they are very mellow. This smells nice, complex and intriguing.
Taste: This is intriguing and complex. On the intro this is sweet with caramel and brown sugar. During the mid-taste dark fruits make an appearance, but they are outshines by the sweetness of the caramel and toffee flavors, this is sweet and enjoyable. The finish hits hard with oak and alcohol that slightly burns, but quickly smooths out to a mellow rum flavor with a lingering touch of vanilla and a caramel sweetness. This is hard to keep up with because the flavor is constantly changing with flavors weaving in and out over the tongue.
Palate: Thick and slightly syrupy, soft carbonation that becomes slightly sharp.
Overall: This is complex and very enjoyable. The finish is a bit hot, but the flavors weave in and out constantly keeping my tongue entertained. This is an excellent beer, well done.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap in a snifter at Village Tap during CCBW. Hard to we in the dark beer garden, but it appears to be a dark apricot color with a off white head that reduced to a film with a ring around the glass. Given a swirl, the head leaves speckles of lace on the glass. Copper penny and apple brandy aroma. Taste is sugar cane, rum, and beet sugar. Tropical fou fou barley wine? No, but itís tasty. Sweet for sure, but not too much. Iím a little surprised at how take this is for the high ABV and a beer that is suposedly designed to age. Very drinkable now. Curious how it will age. I have a bottle and am now perplexed if I should sit on it. Look for this at an upcoming bottle share, I think...

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Slightly dark amber pour, little to no head. Big spicy rum nose. Beautiful sweet malt profile, nice spice and heat from the rum on the finish. Really nice Barleywine, certainly on the sweet and boozy side.

Bomber pours an almost clear dark reddish brown with small vanishing off-white head but good lacing. Nose is full of toffee, alcohol and sugar. Aroma is an interesting mix with sweet malts, banana, pear, bread, vanilla, and biscuits. Flavor is definitely sweet with some alcohol burn in the finish. Mouthfeel is sticky. Body is full with slight carbonation. An interesting experiment and still an enjoyable big beer.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber. Pours a caramelly brown with a thin off white head, so-so retention. Nose is big on sweets: malt, caramel, rum, brown sugar. Mouth is big and creamy, boozy warmth intermingling with toffee, vanilla, jaggery (Indian unrefined sugar), dates, rum... Sweet and dessert-like, would be perfect for the holidays. Outstanding brew.
