COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A citrusy and refreshing Belgian-style pale ale hopped with Cascade, Citra, and whole Crystal hops for massive aromas and flavors! Fermented with our Belgian Wit yeast for an extra dose of complexity, this one is very drinkable and extremely aromatic.

Per Wil Turner, this is a second runnings beer from Institutionalized Barleywine’s runoff.

Sampled at the brewpub. It poured a clear golden color with a white head. The aroma was of grapefruit with light citrus, some resin and a bread backbone. The taste was of citrus and grapefruit with a bit of rind and a bread backbone. Nice.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2015 Both floral and citrusy on the palate, with balanced, flavorful grapefruit and nectarine citrus combine with hints of dried flowers and cotton candy picking up subtle notes of toffee and crisp hops. through the long finish. Lingers with a slightly dry, funky note.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2015 Amber-gold, good amount of visible carbonation, head is one finger, velvety. Smell is spiced orange peel, warm yeast, bread. Smooth roasted malts, yeast, citrus, some candy. Refreshing.

12 oz can. Pours hazy, dark yellow orange. Fruity and bready aroma. Spicy sweet taste. Caramel malts, yeast...like a spiced clementine orange.

12oz can via trade. Poured a rusty bronze body under an average sized frothy off white head. Aroma is citrus, lemons and tangerine, yeast, breads, tea. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a slightly syrupy finish. Flavor is yeasty, bread grains, citrus rinds, tea leaves, touch old lemons. Nice stuff.

[Can] Poured golden in color with a hint of a reddish hue to it. Spicy citrus hops and yeast notes in the aroma. Yeast and a little funk starts in the flavor. Peach, tart pear, honey, bread and dry lemon mix with hops that impart more of an orange flavor. Not a bad beer, but I am really not sure what to make of it. Seems a little muddled together in the end. Tasting notes from 2/2014.

Aroma is Belgian yeast, pine and hops. The flavor is light grapefruit, fruit, Belgian yeast funk, malts and a dry and bitter finish. Reminds me a little of Duvel Triple Hop, the hops here are a little more bitter and drier than most American ales.

Awesome aroma of citrus mixed with fresh, piney hops. Orange amber with a thick tan head. Sweet malt up front, intertwined with notes of fresh orange and sweet candy. then nicely balanced with a slightly bitter hop. Finishes balances with the perfect amount of bitterness. Outstanding representation of this style.

From tap. Clean gold orange in glass. Big nose of complex hops, some citrus zest and wet cellar. Big flavors in this offering, mostly sweet. Bubblegum and orange candies. Short bread. Fine, hoppy, bitterness lurking underneath. Very well put together. I am a sucker this kind of sweet and bitter combo.
