A citrusy and refreshing Belgian-style pale ale hopped with Cascade, Citra, and whole Crystal hops for massive aromas and flavors! Fermented with our Belgian Wit yeast for an extra dose of complexity, this one is very drinkable and extremely aromatic.

Per Wil Turner, this is a second runnings beer from Institutionalized Barleywine’s runoff.

Bottle from Red Wine & Brew Chesterland. Golden orange with flat head and lace. Orangy hops and tangy Belgian yeast aroma. Medium sweet orangy tang with mildly bitter but very dry finish. Surprisingly dry finish for a somewhat sweet beer. A tiny bit medicinal and or astringent, but still pretty good. Medium body.

Pours a pale golden color with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.

The aroma is floral & fruity in a very hop forward kind of way. It’s pungent and bright with just a light alcohol character.

The flavor is enjoyably bitter & plenty hop forward in a very fruity kind of way, lots o’ pineapple, mango & citrus... the beer comes off as a touch sweet, but all around packs a pretty nice hop profile.

A slightly hazy dull golden brown with two fingers of white fluffy head. Smells of pine, citrus, caramel, and oddly reminds of the smell of candy cigarettes. A smooth carbonated taste that has a surprising bit of peppery spice to it along with a pretty smooth underwhelming bitter, a slight honey sweetness. Dry finish with some breadiness. A pretty good drinking beer, not overly anything just good solid beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can (2013 assumedly) in a trade with theAlum, drunk on 2/16/14
Slightly hazy orange-amber beer is topped by a small white head that recedes to cover.
TROPICAL FRUITS. Yes, this is nice. Pineapple, mango, kiwi, that sort of thing. Lush, green hops and citric notes follow up the tropical fruit notes and a lightly sweet crystal malt note provides balance. Medium high to high strength of aroma, no flaws and just pure, aromatic hoppiness without all the acidity.
Hop bitterness, incredibly juicy fruit hop flavor and almost the perfect amount of pale malt sweetness collide on the palate. Soft texture and light but engaging carbonation keeps it drinkable, though it does get too sweet by the end of the glass. Bubble gum and light mango esters build on the finish and it gets a bit wit beerish but the hops are done so well they could almost put arsenic in this stuff and it wouldnt matter. Need to try more from these guys....

12 oz can, Kroger Bridge St. Light golden color; pretty hazy; foamy white head becomes a large ring; heavy lacing. Aroma bready, orange, banana, spices. I would say the flavor leans more toward a Belgian than a pale ale, which isn’t necessarily a problem. This one is the good parts of a pale ale and a Belgian combined, without the lousy wheat characteristics of all the spring wits that are coming out right now. Good beer for the style. What a great brewery.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2014 12 oz bottle poured into a shaker. Strong notes of banana and spice kick it off, while there’s still a huge fluffy head. Eventually bread, some candy sugar, some floral notes, and some spice (particularly pepper and clove) join into the mix as well. The big, fluffy, slightly off-white head sits atop a mostly clear, effervescent gold-orange body. A nice layer of head remains atop the drink throughout, and it leaves an abundant lacing down the glass. The taste is mostly sweet (medium / medium-high levels) but with a nice bitter complement underpinning it (medium levels). The medium / medium-full body is creamy and smooth going down aided by a soft, mellow carbonation in moderate amounts. The mouth feel is initially toasty bread with some citrus (lemon and orange), and a floral / herb taste. Fleshy stone fruit (peaches / apricots) start to come out near mid-bottle as well as some of the fuller caramel malt body. It finishes with toasty caramel flavor accompanied by a clean resin and grassy quality; fairly crisp, too.

Very enjoyable if simple beer. Bomber from the brewery. Not a lot of complexity, but the flavors do come through and there is a little burst of citrus. Pours a nice golden color with a small head. Some lacing. Aroma is of fresh floral and citrus. Not really very hoppy. Some cereal. Taste is very similar to the aroma. Some floral and cereal with very moderate hopping and a little burst of citrus on the tongue. A good beer that is very drinkable. I enjoyed it.
