3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft in a tulip at the Gage, Michigan Ave. Well, almost every beer they serve comes in a tap. But for this style it’s appropriate. Very slight haze of a light copper beer with a thin head. Smell of American IPA hops, citrus and pine from likely Cascade and Columbia, maybe some Amarillo. But I can also smell some warm malts at the same time. Tasting hands the baton back to the hops, which are more bitter than the bouquet. Strong backbone of malts slowly reasserts itself. Good for sipping with the gage’s signature fish & chips (French Fries more than the English style chips, I believe).

From the six pack of cans, pours a cloudy orange with a white collar. This is a readily available hoppy bitter beer I have seen almost everywhere which is good because it’s about time i can walk into a 7-11 at midnight and not have to resort to the usual swill. The times they are a changing.

12oz can into tulip. Minneapolis.
Pours copper, very clear, a rim of white head.
Aroma is heavy on hops. I get a fair amount of resin, earthy. Malt is fairly heavy as well.
Taste is fairly heavy on bitter and sweetness.

Can from CBB seed. Great hoppy citrus aroma. Flavour has a good nalt profile, but the citrus hops and slight tropical flavours are the heroes. Solid IPA.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz can pours a clear orange with a nice head. Aroma of grapefruit upfront. Tastes of citrus mostly, medium bitterness which surprised me, I expected more.. Quite refreshing actually.
Maybe a side by side with Founders Centennial.

Really strong hop scent, and matching hop flavor. A bit of citrus mixed in with this bold one. Too bad it's a limited run as I'd like to come across it from time to time

Draft in Chicago. A nice IPA, not totally West Coast-fuzzed-out but with some influence, I’d guess. Big pine and citrus hops but with a relatively light tough. Very drinkable. Two of you with a six at a pool on a hot day? Sounds great.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a clear, yellow amber with lots of carbonation and a lather head. Pleasant and clean noble hops aroma. Clean malt taste with balanced noble hops flavor. Minimal stickiness in the mouth with a fresh hops aftertaste.

Can: Cloudy, orange-crusted amber color with a half-inch eggshell layer of foam on top. Aroma has notes of flowers, perfume, leaves, grapefruit rind, grassy hops, a touch of white pepper, buttered biscuit maltiness, maybe a very small hint of caramel. Reminds me of a more toned down Two Hearted, in a way. Flavor is balanced. Sugar crusted grapefruit, rose petals, perfume, a hint of pine, wet grass, & white pepper, a touch of tangerine peel. Finish shows a bigger malt presence; biscuits, toasted crackers, buttered bread, faint caramel, doesn’t get overly sweet, though, which is good. Musky, faded floral aftertaste. Nice stuff, really tasty.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep hazy golden color with a thick white head, lots of lacing on glass. Strong citrus/floral aroma. Nice hoppy bitterness at first taste but not overpowering and doesn’t linger long. Slight hint of citrus but not a lot. This is a really good IPA that I had a lot of a while back in Chicago and can be drank all day, and I mean all day. It was so good I had to bring back a 6pk because we can not get it here, too bad.
