COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In November of 2010, we filled 1 Jack Daniels and 1 Heaven Hill Rye Whiskey barrel with our Barleywine (Institutionalized). The combination of these two unique barrels yield a very rich and complex finished product. Deep aromas and flavors of dark stone fruits, bourbon, molasses, toasted coconut and vanilla come in waves as you swirl this beer in the snifter.

Future releases, especially the first bottle release saw this offering aged exclusively in Woodford Reserve barrels. This is noted for the 2012 December Release, but will not be seperated out.

Dec 2012 bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a foamy white head that doesn’t leave great lacing. Aroma is very bourbon oak forward with a sweet toffee notes as well. Flavor is very delicious bourbon but you are still able to pick out the sweet caramel, dark fruits, and malt notes. The end is very astringent with bourbon notes almost as if this is more than 13%. Mouthfeel is sweet full and carbonation is average. Overall this is an absolutely delicious beer that I would buy any time.

650ml bottle from ck1, shared by all at poker night. Thanks bro! Big thick pour with little head. Aroma has stone fruits, candied fruits, and big sweet malts. Taste is of plums, other stone fruits, and some citrus & candy all on a vanilla caramel thick malt base. Blend was well done, and the body was quite thick. Lowly carbonated and alcoholly. Finishes sweetly thick and tart. Quite strong and quite good ... but a sipper. 13.8

Bottle shared in the line for Blåbær Release 2015. Pours a clear amber with a tiny, white head. Aroma has toast, bourbon, caramel, oak, slight licorice, vanilla. Taste is sweet with lots of bourbon notes, caramel and a slight dryness in the finish. Full, sticky body and an average to low carbonation.

On tap at Falling Rock as Revolution Straight Jacket. Deep reddish brown appearance with a small diminishing head. Aroma of caramel malts, figs, raisins, chocolate, oak, coconut, toffee and light alcohol. The flavor adds hints of bourbon, vanilla, earth, leather, molasses and dark fruits. Full bodied with soft carbonation, a smooth creamy feel and a rich finish. Good.

Pretty damn good barley wine. Big malty aroma with some barrel age character. Taste toasty and hoppy and barrel comes through really well. Some booziness which actually was very enjoyable. A sipper for sure.

Bottle in line for blåbær. Thanks to Simon for sharing. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, syrup, dark fruits, weak vanilla, weak rye and some barrel notes. The taste is sweet and english styled with notes of caramel, toffee, syrup and barrel. Pleasant.
