3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from a generous trader. Pours very dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of milk sugar, bourbon barrel, oak, vanilla and milk chocolate. Medium body. The barrel treatment is a little overpowering compared to the rest of the beer.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Fairly thin appearance, a milk chocolate liquid coalescing to deep brown in the glass. Fluffy latte-colored head. The aroma’s slammed with fresh coconut strips, smoked beef and chocolate syrup. The flavor has a similar melange -- chocolate and tangy dark fruits with coconut and a splash of whiskey -- but in more subdued form. Body, as expected, is pretty thin; carbonation is mild, peppery and fizzy. Not as well-developed a stout or barrel flavor as I’d like -- a little thin and mild. Too tangy as well.

Nice wet like how the barrel adds something to it. Very smooth and creamy. Would definitely drink again.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at Revolution Tap Room. Pour is close to black with some slight red tinting, small off-white head. Aroma is of milk chocolate with a huge amount of bourbon/oak. Slight cream/roast. Flavor is much like the aroma with a sweet and roasted front but finishes with bourbon. This is now my favorite beer, I cannot get enough of it!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Thanks, Kevin. Thick, viscous pour. Colorless with a tan head that quickly fades away. Aroma of milky sweet cocoa nibs, vanilla, light oak, heavy sweet-cream undertones, chocolate, bourbon is mild but adds a robust pungency to the back-end. Flavor is heavily chocolate up-front; lots of cocoa nibs, cream, modestly roasted malt. The barrel brings out mostly notes of vanillin & woody-oak, with the bourbon & booziness itself being tertiary. Finish of oak, baker’s chocolate, residual malt sweetness, & lightly charred nuts. Could use a bigger mouth feel, as it’s just a tad thin. Overall, quite nice.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown/black color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of smoky malt, oak, vanilla, molasses, licorice, & bourbon; Flavor of roasted sweet malt, caramel, molasses/syrup, chocolate, and dark fruit; Nicely balanced; Aroma is classic barrel - but body was on the thin side. Pretty good overall though.

3.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap, poured into a snifter. A strong bourbon note blossoms through at first, but it settles, and a chocolate, caramel, and lactose aroma come through with hints of the warm bourbon still lingering. Warm caramel syrup, vanilla, and cream aromas settle in by mid glass. The beer is nearly opaque and dark brown, topped by a big, soft, dense beige foam head. The head reduces to medium dense soapy ring wit a wispy surface, and leaves a light, but dense, sheet lace on the glass. The taste is a medium high sweet and a mellow, medium bitter. The texture is slick and syrupy with a soft, fluffy carbonation and a medium full body. Flavors of bourbon are dominant - caramel, wood, touch of a burnt note, and chocolate - with just a light boozy warmth. After awhile, the flavor settles on nutty chocolate and caramel. It finishes with a pleasant, mild warmth to accompany flavors of nuts, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. The aftertaste is a mildly lingering bourbon wood and caramel.

A very nice barrel aged milk stout. Strong bourbon start with a nice milky creamy finish. Pours black with a tan head. Very easy to drink for the alcohol content. Had at home out of a bomber

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bomber dated Nov 12.12, pours a dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Nice mellow not overbearing bourbon aroma, chocolate, molasses, oak, licorice. Taste of deep smooth chocolate, a perfect level of bourbon flavor, light oak, lactose adding sweetness and a slight slick texture, with a pleasent bitter coffee on the finish. 2 years had treated this really well, delicious and dangerously drinkable!!

Bottle:   Fairly black, thin to moderate foamy beige head, little lacing.   Sweet prunish nose, fruity, roasty, and with some graham cracker and oatmeal cookie.   Smells good.   Very similar on the tongue, bubbley, a bit spritzy in carbonation.   A touch of sweet soy comes out as well.   A little warming, but under control.   Pretty sweet, not very heavy.   Too easy to drink.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Not a heavy example, pretty much middle of the road.   Clean finish, lingering sweet soy, prune juice, roasted malts, graham cracker, and oatmeal cookies.   I can’t complain about this one.   Thanks Kevin!
