Had it on tap. Pours black with a finger length, tan head that dissipates into a cap and leaves mild lacing. Aroma and taste is bourbon. Taste also provides some roasted malts. Big, creamy mouthfeel that is followed by a long, bourbon finish. A rep from Revolution sat next to Tortman18 and I in the bar we were at, and he bought us each one of these, so that was pretty sweet. Thanks Revolution.

Bottle with some friends at Ryanís holiday party. Pours a deep brown with thin tan head and some mild lace. Nose of chocolate, bourbon, roast, lactose. Medium body, some creaminess, with some carbonation. Pretty sweet and a very present boozy flavor.

11/16/13 bomber given to me in a trade. Drank while watching The Croods with S,E&R
Poured medium brown color with a big beige head that stayed throughout the pour. Aroma was slight chocolate, all barrel/bourbon notes. Body was very thin. Taste was all barrel with oak and vanilla, very small roasted notes as it warmed.

Tried this at a tasting with Moloko, Bourbon County Coffee Stout, and FW Parabola. There was no doubt this one was the wild child of the group. A lot of reckless kick to it. Not a bad beer. Just not a smooth one. Although it got a little better as I neared the bottom of the glass.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a thick milky black color with a finger of tan foam... aromas are sweet chocolate, round roast and a touch of marshmallow and nilla wafers. The body is thick creamy and smooth with long milk chocolatey sweetness that is rounded out by some light toasty maltballs and khalua mudslide spiked bourbon barrel character. This beer was delicious ! Side note the empty bottle took a two story digger into a cars windshield and was resting unscathed on the wiper blade after a smashing encore !

Sampled at Paulís housewarming tasting 2013. Pours a deep, rich brown body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is milk, hop, earthy wood and rum. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with notes of milk chocolate, the bourbon showing its face much more than the rum notes originally detected; additional notes of earthy hop, crisp roast and cofee. Nice.

(1/26/13) A - oily with a dark maple brown color and not much head.
S - Daaamn, lots of bourbon. Lots of sweetness - vanilla and some milk chocolate. Definitely a milk stout. My fellow tasters spoke of leather and tobacco and I could maybe smell that too.
T - Milk chocolate sweetness. Lots of that lactose sweetness. Bourbon is definitely there, along with some booze, and some wood and vanilla. Again, you can really tell itís a milk stout.
M - Fairly thin, falls short compared to other barreled brews, but then again itís a milk stout so you arenít typically going to get that big body. Itís fairly smooth and easy drinking. Some of the sweetness comes through on the feel.
O - Immediately after the first sip, I was sad that I had just the one bottle. I really enjoyed this brew. The bourbon and the lactose sugar really brought the sweetness. Some might be turned off by how sweet it is, but I like sweet brews so it works for me. An easy drinker with good characteristics. Revolution continues to impress.

22 oz. bottle, pours a near-black with a medium beige / tan head. Nose brings out lactose notes, some residual sugars, coconut, vanilla and very subtle bourbon notes. Flavour brings out loads of bourbon barrels, a little vanilla, and loads of lactose notes. Extremely complex, deep and dynamic. Well-rounded, and while the booze is noticeable, it works perfectly. Excellent stuff.

Bottle from Brian - thanks! Black pour with a large, frothy tan head. Very nice bourbon, vanilla character with light roast, chocolate, and lactose. Taste is chocolate with semi-assertive bourbon (nice vanilla tones), some darker malt notes, and a nice trailing bourbon flavor. Clean, light coating mouthfeel. Hugely drinkable beer with a nice but not overwhelming bourbon character and good chocolate notes. Excellent.
