Another typical fruity belgium beer. Hoppy and bitter finish. Smells fruity and pours orange in color. Had at revolution brewing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Kedzie Taproom, and dispensed to a tulip, showing a fairly clear, amber hue, with some off white head foam that reduced to a persistent ring and light film, leaving some lacing of light spots & streaks on the glass. The nose was fruity, lightly candy sweet, with some biscuity hints, light spicing, and a touch of tartness that transferred over subtly to the flavor. The taste was otherwise similar, a l;ittle less than medium bodied, lively carbonated, with a moderate hop bitterness. Flavorful, and easy drinking, with a 5.7% abv currently listed on the menu.

Old rating. Pours amber with an off white head. Aroma of spice, banana, and caramel. Good flavor. Well done.

8/11/12. GTMW. Amber pour with a nice khaki head. Spicy, estery yeast aroma with bits of spice, mint, and fruit on top of some caramel. Lightly spicy, yeasty, estery flavor with touches of mint and rubber tire on top of the caramel and malty aspects. Not bad.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a pretty reddish amber with a frothy offwhite head that persists to the bottom of the glass. Good clarity. The nose is lightly spicy, faintly sweet. Faint floral honey and a minty phenol note. Pretty clean overall. On tasting, some light caramel notes, moderate sweetness, dry finish. More of that minty quality comes across, which is pretty nice. I keep going back to the beer and find it actually a really solid beer. Some dark fruit comes through, the alcohol is definitely held in check. This would be cool with with some fruit in a wine barrel. Nice.

On tap at the brewpub. Copper color. Some malty, bready character to it, but no real yeast or spice. Drinkable but I didn’t find a lot to it.

Pours a hazy burnt orange with numerous notes of spice, grain, and fruits. The palate is also complex where you get nuanced flavors of cereal, sweet malt, citrus and slight hop notes. A simpler finish rounds this out.

Draft at revo, pours hazed amber with white head. Aroma mixes spicy and earthy yeast character with sweet fruits of banana, plums, and apricot. Flavors are sweet apple, banana, earthy and sweet caramel and pepper spice finish. Justs a bit too sweet overly ripe fruit here, this could be sweet with some Brett in a barrel.

Draft on tap at the Kedzie Tap Room (Chicago, IL). Pours a richer deep copper pour, almost brownish with some decent haziness, reddish orange glow on the edges and bottom, with some deeper brownish hues in the middle. Small frothy whitish head dies a ring, laces small. Aromas are a touch tart, berry and lemons mix with some bready malts, dry yeasty elements, straw and bready dryness. A bit cereal, some more tartness, a touch biscuity and sweeter as it warms. An odd bag with a gentle floral hopping, some mellow fruit presence. Initial is tart up front and dry, touches of lemon, berry, a touch herbal as lemon elements, dry distinct yeast create a firm impression. Some mellow sticky sweetness, biscuits and bread, some dough, and mellow touches of apples. Further in and into the back, the distinct yeast and dryness cut in and start to take the reigns. Dry, earthy, and floral elements stick into the finish and backend. Touches of biscuits, carmelization, and a toastiness try to peek through at times in the middle, with lingering dry and tart jabs, yeast elements. Some apple, lemons, and gentle citrus with that earthy dryness, touches of estery fruit in the middle. Quite an interesting beer that grabs me at times and loses me a bit in the middle as the focus shifts or perhaps loses sight a bit. A solid offering that gives something much different than we’ve seen on tap from Revolution lately. Some effervescent carbonation really adds to an already enjoyable experience on the palate. Not my favorite, but certainly a solid beer in a style that seems harder for beer drinkers to grasp, but that I’m catching on to.

poured from tap into a tulip. Pours a nice medium orange/gold color with a good foamy head. Very good and balanced aromas of grains, herbs, citrus notes and some bits of spices and leather. Very good complexity but lacking a slight bit of depth. Very fresh and balanced medium/full body with a nice feel. The finish is a bit clipped and the mid is lacking a slight bit with notes of grains, herbs, spices and some citrus. A nice and refreshing biere de garde. This was done quite well and was enjoyable.
