4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is a nice chocolate coffee malt. Appearance is a dark brown almost black with a 1 finger tan head. Taste is a smooth chocolate, vanilla with a light coffee presence. Palate is a smooth creamy experience with good carbonation. My bottle was about a year old. Overall an excellent porter.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a bomber into a Revolution Brewing pint glass a darkest of brown with a tan head that becomes thin.
Aroma is bourbon chocolate coffee & flavor is pretty much the same but even better. Richly roasted with a strong bourbon finish.
The balance is very well done. Especially after aged a few months. WOW~

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle generously shared by Sparky! Dark mahogany pour with a creamy latte head. Loads of roasted coffee, brownie batter, vanilla, dark fruit, vanilla and bourbon. Some notes of spicy green bell pepper, as well. Would have preferred this be a little thicker and stickier. Still a damn good beer!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber purchased at Blacklick Wine & Spirits. Pitch black pour with a thick tan head. Aroma consists of bourbon, coffee and chocolate. Bourbon flavor up front, slightly smoothing out to a rich coffee and chocolate finish. I’ll bet it’s really nice with some age on it when the bourbon dies down a bit.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Fresh bottle from trade. Pours black with slight tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, raisin. Taste incorporates all of those plus some nice toffee/caramel richness. Lighter in body than expected but nice, deep coffee flavor. Slightly tart...the roasted malt blends very well with the sweeter notes. Solid beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great bourbon and oak aroma, which comes through in the taste, along with very nice vanilla notes. I was expecting more coffee, but was great regardless.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Jerry’s. Black with big, foamy, brown head, light wet lacing / Very rich, sweet nose of bourbon barrel, semisweet chocolate, caramel, roast coffee, coconut, cream / Medium to full body, a touch thin, sweet, moderately chewy, good hop balance but little bitterness peaking through / Flavors of bourbon barrel, prune, coconut, semisweet chocolate, caramel, cream / These young, aggressive, sweet bourbon barrel stouts don’t appeal to me. Over the top with no finesse.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Smells bourbon with a little licorice, pretty different for me considering my limited experience with porters/stouts. First couple of sips start off with a lot of bourbon flavor, but coffee quickly become the dominant note, backed by roasted nuts and bread. Slightly sweet but hardly noticeable; very little head but surprisingly effervescent. A really delightful brew.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: thanks, Kevin! Tones of deep brown & black with a chunky, khaki collar that transcends from the short-lived layer of foam on top. Aroma has oily, French roast coffee beans, light lactose-y sweetness, some faint maple syrup, & overall a very tame barrel character. Perhaps only a very light hint of wood & vanillin, not much bourbon at all. Taste has plenty more "barrel" to it, though, with lots of sharp barrel tannins up front... Oak, scraping coffee bean dryness, faint cola, milky chocolate, a touch of maple, & little traces of vanilla here & there. Again, light bourbon character, but the flavors are still very nice... Lightly astringent finish, & it could be just a tad thicker. Very nice stout, & while it’s definitely a bit different from the base, I think I still prefer original Eugene to this (all things considered).
