Snifter at the pub. Pours a deep black with a beige creamy ring of a head. Strong nice coffee aroma with lots of chocolate, wood, and vanilla. The flavor is similar, strong in coffee chocolate and vanilla. The malts are fairly sweet, which gets old. I’d like it more on the dry side like Hugene.

Yeah, boy, where to begin with this one. First off bomber was split with the wife. Nose is full of coffee. Taste is astringent black coffee, no note of barrel aging. No oak, no bourbon. Thin body with dryness that lingers. This left me unimpressed.

Bottle pours dark brown/black with medium tan head. Aroma huge coffee. Coffee dominates the flavor as well, a little chocolate, roast and bourbon. Thin porter palate with high carbonation. Finish coffee.

I wonder if there is some batch variation since this was unbalanced and the coffee was very forward. Pretty good coffee but it really washed out all of the other flavors.
