COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Citra Hero is an elegant American IPA designed to showcase the Citra Hop variety.

We utilized 2-row, Pale Ale, Red Wheat and Belgian Aromatic malts to provide a deep golden color and clean malt profile for this hoppy ale. Multiple additions of Citra in the brew kettle infuse this beer with deep layers of citrus aroma and flavor and a clean, crisp yet intense bitterness.

After primary fermentation with our English Ale Yeast we dry-hopped with one pound per barrel of Citra once again to really load this ale up with a burst of fresh citrus fruit.

Weighing in at 7.5% ABV this ale is sturdy enough to hold up to the higher bitterness level but is still quite sessionable and exploding with fresh hop character!

From notes. Had this one at Dougís House with a get together with he and Chris on August 22. 32 oz howler. The pour is a dark orange with a thick cap of white head and a good bit of lace as it falls. The aroma is pretty decent. There is a nice light citrus and bitter hop. The surprise for me is how malty this thing is. Iím not overly crazy about it. Itís not too citrusy, which Iím a little disappointed by. The flavor is definitely a lot maltier. There is a bitter-ish resin and light hop, but the malts make it almost sweet. The mouth feel is lighter and crisp with a nice carbonation and a lingeringly sweet and malty resin. Itís really interesting.

Can from Tanakaya. Drank straight form the can. Lovely citra-forward nose with lots of bright citrus. Body and palate are where things slide for me. Big toasted caramel notes that clash with the bright, light fun of citra on the palate. Lemon and caramel stand out. Slight syrupy and too heavy for my liking. Kind of old school IPA with new school hops I guess.

Sweet, but light tropical fruits, passion fruit, mango, light pine. Clear gold, small, creamy, white head. Light sweet. Bitterness coming up, passion fruit, grapefruit, pine, lively carbonation. Nice IPA, well-balanced, quite bitter in the finish. Keg at brewpub, Chicago.

Great balance of hops, not overly citrusy. Very clean American IPA. On point with the rest of the Hero series beers

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and shaker served displaying a clear & bright, orangey gold color, with a persistent layer of off white head foam, and a sheet-like coating of clingy lacing. A lightly dank introduction was followed by good expression to the grapefruit, pine, and touch of of tropical scent, with the presence of pleasant malt sweetness. Medium+ bodied, the carbonation was decent as the taste mimicked the aroma notes, added a pronounced and lingering, citrus & rind bitterness, as appropriate malt sweetness once more came into play to subtly smooth and mellow the edge of the hop. All the right moves, and very drinkable!

On tap at Battleship. Pours a clear golden color with a thick white head. Aroma is of hops, citrus, slight skunk, grass, and some booze. Carbonated, oily palate. Flavor is of dry hops, citrus, grain, and city water. Leaves a dry hop and citrus finish.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on a nice early August weeknight after a warm run. Appearance is a moderately clear gold with a modest white head. Aroma is heavy on citrus, of course it is. Taste is very good, heavy on orange peel, medium bitterness, light grapefruit. Well done.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 6/20/2016. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of bright/juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey, cracker, biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, papaya, lemon/orange rind, pine, cracker, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of bright/juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and fairly bready/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this a fantastic IPA! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of bright/juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Tasted from a 12oz. can. It poured a clear golden hue with active effervescence and a fluffy off white head that left minimal streaky lacing. Has a big Citra-hoped aroma with hints of peach. Deliciously well hopped bittersweet taste. Revolution did not disappoint with this Citra edition of their "Hero" series of excellent IPAs. This is a very easy drinking 7.5%.
