COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Citra Hero is an elegant American IPA designed to showcase the Citra Hop variety.

We utilized 2-row, Pale Ale, Red Wheat and Belgian Aromatic malts to provide a deep golden color and clean malt profile for this hoppy ale. Multiple additions of Citra in the brew kettle infuse this beer with deep layers of citrus aroma and flavor and a clean, crisp yet intense bitterness.

After primary fermentation with our English Ale Yeast we dry-hopped with one pound per barrel of Citra once again to really load this ale up with a burst of fresh citrus fruit.

Weighing in at 7.5% ABV this ale is sturdy enough to hold up to the higher bitterness level but is still quite sessionable and exploding with fresh hop character!

Bomber, thanks to Summer Secret Santa. I missed this in the box the first time around (oops), so it was like an extra unexpected present. Pours clear gold with flourishing white head. Aroma: whoa, this is not stale. Not at all. Citrus, orange-lemon-tangerine-tropical cotton candy cocktail. Pineapple juice, sweetness, nice. Moderate sweetness, a lot of tropical citrus, moderate+ bitterness in the finish. Palate: Medium+ body, oily slick texture. Overall: this is ... Really damned good. Thanks, Santa!

Medium orange hazy body with a minimal head. Can totally smell the citra hops, but oddly also get dill pickle too. Big citra hop taste, big malt flavor. It’s really good. Bigger than PseudoSue or ZD. Tasty though.

Sample at the DBLDP on 08/31/2014. Clear dark golden color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of pineapple, grapefruity hops and toasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering fruity hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bomber from ck1, thanks bro! Pours an orangey copper with a bit of a white head that leaves almost no lace. Aroma has heavy citrus - across the room, always a great sign! - pine and some fresh fruits. Taste is of bitter grapefruit, tangy pine, sweet toffee and mango, and other fresh fruits. Very hop forward, although the malt is there, this is hop driven. Finishes with bitterness, and a surprising amount of sweetness from the fruits. Very, very nice brew! 14.5

220z bottle poured into half pint glass. Golden pour with a short creamy white head. The aroma is watermelon, with citrus rind. I find this to be an extremely smooth IPA with a little breadiness that holds up the backbone. This beer is where Revolution really excels, with a crisp cleanness here that allows the tropical notes of the Citra hops to shine through. Everything here falls into place well. The bitterness is pleasing but never takes over. If you find this in season then do not sit on it.

Bomber. Pours orange gold with a clingy white head. Aroma is melon, orange citrus. Flavor is bready up front with juicy citrus hop (no surprise). Very nice.

Bomber. Clear tangerine orange color with a medium sized, frothy off-white head. Aroma has a husky straw note at first, followed with some rich mango and orange zest, some fresh herbals (spearmint, oregano?), and toasty rye. Moderate bitterness is even in pungency from beginning to the end, though in the finish some sweet tropical fruit notes become noticeable. Very clean, bitterness isn’t harsh or abrasive. I like this a bit better than the Galaxy-Hero.

Tap at Tap House Grill, pours a hazy dark yellow gold with a thin but spotty head, aroma was kind of off, not what I was expecting, older sweeter hops come though, not the citrus I was expecting, flavor is old musty hops again, must be something wrong here.

A golden ipa with a thin white head. In aroma, loads of citra hops, catty and citrusy, resinous, beautiful. In mouth, a sweet fruity malt with nice citrus pulp, floral and catty hops, alcohol warmth, nice. On tap at brewery.

22oz bottle poured into a highball glass. The aroma is a clear tropical bouquet. Mostly pineapple, passion fruit, and tangerine with some floral notes. There’s also some cereal and caramel syrup. It pours a clear, effervescent yellow orange with an unstable, fizzy white head. This reduces down to a medium thin foamy ring with a light surface dusting and it leaves a light lace. The taste is a nice balance of medium-high bitter and sweet. The texture is sticky with a moderate fizzy carbonation and a medium light body. Very easy drinking for an IPA a bit on the higher end of the apv side. It finishes with a dry resin and citrus combination. There’s also a slight touch of cough syrup in there with bread crust, toast, and pine. The aftertaste is moderate in strength and hangs around for a bit, consisting mostly of bittersweet citrus and pine.
