3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The beer pours a cloudy orange with a nice white head, good retention and lacing.
The aroma is light, a little more citrus than you would expect in a saison, with a little wheat, and a slight bitter finish. The server described as super sweet, it was sweet for a saison but not super sweet, nor do I think its a traditional saison.
The taste is also pretty light starting off with some citrus, then finishes with a slight sour bitter finish.
Decent feel, nice carbonation and a fine dry finish.
Overall, pretty good, a sweeter take on a saison.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 13, 2011 Draft, a keg held back about 9 months at the pub, pours sweet toffee notes floral and herbal hop notes fl are
very sweet and candy like with earthy grainy and spice notes. Way too
sweet man rev cannot brew a decent saison. 2.9
4/13/11, a fresh draft pour rerate, seemed like a Matilda clone, big phenolic character, spicy hop and yeast notes, bit big and sweet like Matilda but tasty too. Much better fresh, aging this with Brett could do wonders.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2010 Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a cloudy yellow-gold color with a medium thin white head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of mildly spiced hops and fruit. Light body with flavors of hops, bready malt, sweet fruit and yeast. The finish is sweet spices and fruit with a yeast aftertaste. Decent Saison overall.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
aroms is apricot/tangerine, salty sour peach and yeast. appearance is ultra hazy peach with blasting foam head and wicket lacing but low carb. flavor is initially fost nectarines then light sour/funky backend comes forward. yeast is not outright but influence is there. mouthfeel is similar foamy as appearance, thick and oxygenated despite low carb.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is a murky tan with a large white head. Aroma is very fruity with some yeast and hops. Flavor starts out with very spicy hops and follows with a bit of lemon grass. Finish is a bit dry and thin. The beer is decent and has plenty to offer just nothing over the top.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub.
Pours a cloudy golden-orange with poofy white head forming at the top of the tulip glass. that leaves nice lacing in its wake. Aroma is spicy, herbal, and hoppy presumably from the dry-hop process -- a little out of character for the style. Flavor is crisp, big, and similarly herbal, spicy, meadow-y, and with quite a bit of hop bitterness -- not "IPA" bitter, but a lot more so than one would expect from the style. A light dose of sweet malt floats around in there somewhere. Medium-to-solid mouthfeel with a lightly sweet but mostly herbal-hoppy aftertaste. Interesting but I’m not sure I’d order it again; it was a little to hop-aggressive for me and IMO that element didn’t mesh well with the otherwise soft and gentle flavors of a saison.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub. Orange hazy. Nice head of medium bubbles which dissipates rather quickly. Fresh, fruity nose w/ a bunch of a lavender baby powder character. Light to medium bodied. Lightly tart and crisp w/ just a hair to much bitterness (which is really not distracting). Vigorous carbonation. If you like hoppy saisons, this is a good one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). Pours a hazy murky glowing orange, a bit darker, some tannish elements with a good offwhite head that stays decent sized, laces well. Aromas are a subtle fruity yeasty blend, a touch of spice mixed with apple, pear, and mellow banana. Grainy malts, a touch of wheat, and vanilla come in with dry and decent bittering hops, floral and earthy. Initial is nice, flavorful malts and fruity esters attack the palate, banana, apple, pear mix with a touch of bubblegum, citrus, vanilla, faint honey, good bitterness that let’s the dominant yeasty spice and fruit stay master, but balances well, drys out to a near champagne quality. A touch of orange, floral and earthy hops, and lingering spice stick to the palate. One of the better Saisons I’ve had from Chicagoland. Tasty, inoffensive, balanced well. Pulls several elements and flavors together well.
