crisp and refreshing IPA exploding with fresh hop character, named for a somewhat forgotten yet amazing hop variety named Crystal. A unique hopping program gives this beer a massive, clean bitterness and fresh hop aroma bursting with hints of citrus and fresh fruit.

Bottle. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus hop aroma. Medium to abundant body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy citrus bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. Very good brew.

Bottle shared at a tasting, 10/6/14. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a thin frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of tropical, citrus, candied citrus hops, peat, caramel. The taste is strong resin, citrus, tropical hops and pale malts. Medium bodied, moderate lingering bitterness.

Sample at the HSC July 4th beer tasting. This brew pours a hazy golden color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is citrusy with hops and malt in the background. Medium-bodied with a citrusy hops character and flavors of bready malt and pine. The finish is moderately bitter with a zesty citrus aftertaste. Above average overall.

650ml bottle. Golden pour. Nice smell, light floral, citrus, malts. The flavor is juicy, spicy, malt noticeable, medium bitterness. It is pleasant even with some buttery maltiness.

22oz bottle. Labeled 7.5%. Bottled May/13/13. Clear golden yellow color. Thin white head, leaves decent lace. Very nice hop-forward flavor profile. Grassy, with nice citrus in the finish. Interesting, complex hop. Definitely some fresh fruit. Maybe a hint of pineapple? Nice moderate bitter taste, lightly zesty, light sweet. Great, hop-forward IPA, while it’s chilled. Get’s a little sweet as it warms up, though. Some biscuity malt step forward, though that’s not necessarily bad. Good stuff overall.. Out of the 4 Revolution IPAs I’ve tried so far, this is 2nd only to Dos Osos.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear golf with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has notes of resinous pine and grass with some earthy grain backing as well as a hint of onion. Flavor is more mild with lots of grass, a bit of onion and light grains backing.

Draft at Liberty’s Bar and Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange-gold color with a small off-white head. Notes of orange and grapefruit citrus, herbs, caramel, pine resin, and florals. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, resinous mouthfeel. Very nice IPA. Good showcase for this hop.

Bomber and served in my GI IPA tulip: Pours a clean golden hue with a mostly lasting head and good lace. Dank and resiny hops, melon and grapefruit, biscuity and toffee malts, mineral and metallic vapours. The flavor profile is one note and got boring after half a bottle of dankness and oniony notes. The mouth feel is aggressive and biting.... this is nothing close to Galaxy Hero... will not buy again. Crappy hop in, crappy beer out

Bomber to pint (shared with the Mrs.). Looks solid; light for an IPA though. A transparent gold with foamy white head. Smells of bitter hops with some citrus too. Tastes like it smells with a good, smooth mouthfeel. Good beer.
