COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
crisp and refreshing IPA exploding with fresh hop character, named for a somewhat forgotten yet amazing hop variety named Crystal. A unique hopping program gives this beer a massive, clean bitterness and fresh hop aroma bursting with hints of citrus and fresh fruit.

First time having this beer. Bomber poured into an IPA glass. Thyis beer has no faults. Near perfection.

Clear golden to light yellow color. No head to speak of. Floral apricot aroma. Lively mouth feel initial apricot flavor, dry finish. Sweet hops on the palate but still dry. ---bhiner41 Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2014 Clear golden orange with almost no head. Smells like tangerine, a touch of marijuana. Very clean body, big grapefruit flavor with hints of orange peel. Refreshing, but not complex enough to really stand out.

On tap at Town Hall in Ohio City / Cleveland. One of the best IPA’s I’ve tried in a long time - clear orange brew with distinctive aroma of citrus and tropical fruit. Taste is mild sweetness at the start and an immense and complex hoppiness that is just excellent. I was going to try a few other brews on the menu but stuck with this.

UPDATED: JUN 6, 2014 22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but was a recent release. Pours slightly hazy bright orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge mango, tangerine, pineapple, peach, papaya, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Outstanding aromas with huge complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt balance; with great strength. Taste of big mango, tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of mango, tangerine, pineapple, peach, grapefruit, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity of bright juicy citrus/tropical hops with moderate pale malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around great complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Had it on tap at Revolution Brewery in Logan Square Chicago. It poured a clear golden color with a very slight head and a whisper for lacing, the aroma was a hop / citrus sot to the nostrils , and the taste was hoppy with a tasty bitter finish.

From Island Lake Foods, of all places. Pours a very clear golden amber with fine bubbles deep into the glass, and some drops of lace. Aroma is of pine, citrus and caramel ... what more does one need? Lovely Taste has tangy pine, bitter orange and sweet caramel underneath. Slightly sticky. Medium bodied, with a really good balance; the bitterness fought just ahead of the sweetness throughout, but it was a close battle. They had galaxy hero as well, but thought would be something different to try a different hop. Very nice!
