COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A play on Josh’s name, this Russian imperial stout is aged in four different types of bourbon barrels (Old Fitzgerald, Old Forester, Elijah Craig, and Evan Williams), then blended for the resulting thick and dark brew. If you had a chance to taste Alderaan, this is the aged version.

Bottle thanks to Chip. Pours a very dark brown with small light tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong bourbon, roast, wood, chocolate, molasses. Thick mouth, roast, vanilla, wood, bourbon, very sweet, really nice.

Pours an opaque black from the bomber with minimal ring of tan brown head that leaves light lace. Aroma of deep roasted malts, a nice vanilla and chocolate barrel notes, a hint of smokiness. Taste is more toward the barrel and chocolate notes than the roast of the nose. Thick and viscous, creamy, low carbonation, solid booze presence, but not overwhelming. Really nice.

2015 from a bottle in a pint glass. Look - Sludgy Dark brown. Finger of medium fingered tan head. Little to no lacing. Smell - Raisin. Chocolate. Bourbon. Coffee. Taste - Chocolate. Bourbon. Plum. Raisin. Booze. Tar. Charr. Feel - A lot of alcohol. Dry because of that but still sticks. Overall - I think I’m barreled out. This is good. I gave it to a friend for his birthday and on Star Wars release day.

Bottled. Pours a bold black. Has a medium brown head. Has a thick chocolate upfront taste. A roasty malty taste. The thickness is a little light. Has a light bourbon after taste. Overall good stout.

Smooth black body with a lighter brown head. Big aroma of bourbon and oak. Taste is lots of fudge and bourbon. Tons of oak also comes through. Very good.

22. Wow, thanks, R! What an amazing out-of-the-blue treat. Pours jet black with a dense and creamy dark tan head that falls away, leaving a sturdy, stubborn little ring that really hangs around. Big sweet bourbon nose, just tons of apricot and vanilla. Creamy thick body with carb. Roasty dark chocolate and cocoa nibs mid palate, much more coherent than the aromatics. Bourbon and wood presence there, but soft more of a showcase for the sweet dark malts. Long sweet chocolate finish.

In snifter from brewery. Black with small tan head. Intense Bourbon, brown sugar, wood, vanilla, raisin. Thick oily body, low carbonation, sweet, slight bitterness. Intense flavors, fitting name. Good.
