A play on Josh’s name, this Russian imperial stout is aged in four different types of bourbon barrels (Old Fitzgerald, Old Forester, Elijah Craig, and Evan Williams), then blended for the resulting thick and dark brew. If you had a chance to taste Alderaan, this is the aged version.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2013 I don?t get much aroma but the flavor is huge. Chocolate, cherries and bourbon. It?s like dessert in a glass. Becomes a little bitter as it warms. I preferred it on the cool side. I?ve never had anything like it. Outstanding!

22oz bomber pours oily dark black with half finger brown head. Awesome nose with rich brownie, vanilla, bourbon, marshmallow, spice and oak. Taste is similar with chewy sweet brownie batter, rich chocolate, char and roast, coffee, oaky vanilla. Finishes semi sweet, roasty char, super well done barrel treatment, Hershey and brownie with some boozy bourbon fruit and spice. Not much can approach BCBS for me but this is damn close. Fantastic.

The beer pours black with a tan head. The aroma has rich caramel, vanilla, bourbon, rich deep roast and a bit of coconut. It has a full body with light carbonation. The taste has licorice, roast, bourbon, oak, cacao nibs and abrasiveness. The finish has some burnt marshmallow aspect. Pretty good.

Not really a milestone rate, but this will be #1900. Draft at Ale House. Pours nearly black with a chocolaty brown head. Aroma is very nice.. Dark chocolate, fig, molasses, bourbon, oak. This is a nice thick chocolaty brew with a touch of almond, molasses and a strong, but not too boozy, bourbon and oak finish.

Pours an opaque black from the bomber with minimal ring of tan brown head that leaves light lace. Aroma of deep roasted malts, a nice vanilla and chocolate barrel notes, a hint of smokiness. Taste is more toward the barrel and chocolate notes than the roast of the nose. Thick and viscous, creamy, low carbonation, solid booze presence, but not overwhelming. Really nice.

2015 from a bottle in a pint glass. Look - Sludgy Dark brown. Finger of medium fingered tan head. Little to no lacing. Smell - Raisin. Chocolate. Bourbon. Coffee. Taste - Chocolate. Bourbon. Plum. Raisin. Booze. Tar. Charr. Feel - A lot of alcohol. Dry because of that but still sticks. Overall - I think I’m barreled out. This is good. I gave it to a friend for his birthday and on Star Wars release day.
