3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Giant Eagle Market in UA. Copper-brown pour with a big fluffy light tan head and spotty lacing. Aroma is toasty, tropical fruit, herbal, caramel and orange peel - lots going on, nice smell. Taste is caramel and orange peel with floral, pine, spice. Get a tea vibe too. Lingering pine bitter finish. Something just keeps this from being great - little thin and watery on the palate maybe. Very good though.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Copper with a thin head. Smell is very strong -- bubblegum, caramel, biscuit. First flavors are citrus, grapefruit peel, moderate bitterness, caramel biscuit flavor. More like a DIPA than a pale ale.

When asked, "what do you think of this beer?", a fellow beer advocate states... "Ummmm... I liiikke it." But in the vein of full disclosure, his eyebrow was raised in what appeared to be an uncomfortable posture and his voice mirrored the pubescent innocence of Peter Brady. So, logic dictates that his body language doesn't quite mimic his verbal review. Having said that, I agree because I feel this beer has strong drinkability and an awesome label and I really want to like it a lot. In conclusion, you should drink it. It makes your friends raise their eyebrows.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap @ Revolution: Pours a clean & deep, burnt amber color with no fulfilling head, just a moderate, off-white collar around the edge. Aroma is much more mild than expected. Vague fruitiness with some caramel & Munich-like malt sweetness. Hard to pull much from the hops, here. Taste is pretty sweet, lots of caramel malt, toast, & an almost saccharine sweetness backing up the tropical fruit essence of the hops. Mild floral notes & a touch of oily hops lead into a sticky, pine laden finish, Aftertaste of some sticky tropical fruits backed by a lasting caramel malt sweetness. Nose is a little underwhelming & overall it’s a bit sweeter than I prefer my DIPAs with a little too much caramel presence. Not bad by any means, but also not my favorite.

On tap @ Revolution. Amber pour with a small white head. Nose is a bit malty with some bread and a bit of caramel. Lots of orange, some grapefruit, and a bit of pine. Light bitterness to the flavor. Some pine, grapefruit, and orange peel. Lots of peach and bready sweetness. Fair amount of caramel and toast, as well.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/15/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep orange copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pineapple, mango, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, caramel, toast, bread, and floral/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pineapple, mango, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, caramel, toast, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, pineapple, mango, orange peel, floral, grass, light pine, caramel, toast, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate dark/bready malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial pale ale. All around great complexity and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and dark/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle pour dark brownish copper. Nose nice pine, mango, and sweet malt. Taste citrus bite front folloewd by high bitterness. Not as many of the hop flavors come through in the taste as they do the nose. Bitterness lasts throughout the mid and late palate and thorough a long finish. Some caramel malt late.

Dark amber pour, some sediment . Nose is a lot of Amarillo. Really nice C hops on the flavour. One of the smoothest most drinkable Double IPA's I have had!
