A Double Pale Ale with juicy citrus hop flavor from Centennial, Cascade, Amarillo and Chinook hops. We started with the idea of doubling-down on our Iron Fist pale ale recipe, made a few tweaks and ended up with this great beer. Although the name says otherwise, we recommend one at time.

22oz bottle. Clear amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of citrus, pine, tropical fruit, caramel and light alcohol. Flavor is sweet caramel malt balanced with some bitter hops and light alcohol heat. Medium body with average carbonation. Really nice beer, lots of hop character with a malty sweet kick.

Tap at Revolution Brewpub, Chicago - 04/11/12. Clear mid amber with a thin off white head, good lacing ensues. Bitter grapefruit at the fore of the nose, mango, pine, hops and caramel malt. Tastes of bitter aggressive hops, pine, tropical fruits, bitter grapefruit, tangy, hoppy, piney goodness! Medium to fuller in body with soft carbonation and fairly smooth. Really enjoyed this one, probably my favourite of the beers I sampled at Revolution, akin to a DIPA in many respects.

Draft. Poured hazy golden amber color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations were met with a solid brew.

Bottle from Josh: pours clear amber, frothy, bubbly head that recedes. Nose: spicy herbal hops, fresh and green wet hops, caramel malts. Flavors, resinous pine, wet and herbal hops, mild malt sweetness to balance. Medium bodied with long resinous bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear copper color. Good white head. Musty danky aroma. Good lace. Powerful malty backbone with.a lot of hops piled on top. Full taste but could seem a little harsh.

Bottle courtesy of Vin at Franks, Oct 2012. Pours a copper amber body with white head and lacing. Aroma is bitter grapefruit, dry citrus fruits, astringent hop resin and pine. Mouthfeel is medium, bitter and dry with notes of bitter grapefruit, orange peel, resin, floral flavor and pine.

Excellent pale ale that is really more like an IPA. Not as citrusy as its description says. It has more resiny hops in my opinion (makes sense with the ones used to make it).

Bomber from the corner store down the street. Pours clear orange with small white head. Aromas of sweet malt, grapefruit, orange, and a little pine. Flavors of bitter hops, grapefruit, light pine, and good dose of sweet malts. Nice balance of bitter hops and sweet malts. This is a DIPA in my opinion and pretty good one at that.
