COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A striking, robust porter full of warmth and chocolate malt. Eugene is a robust porter named after Eugene V. Debs, an American union leader and activist who led the Pullman Railroad strike in 1894. An assortment of Belgian specialty malts form a complex structure of toasted grain and caramel flavors. Dark chocolate malt makes this porter black as night and infuses it with its distinct intense, chocolate essence.

Dark with a deep brown head. Aroma is dark malts, chocolate, lightly roasted malt, earthy hops. Medium bodied. Flavor has mild sweet chocolate, roasted malt, earth, some molasses. Didnít notice the 7% alcohol in this one. Real nice porter and one Iím glad I have the rest of a six pack to finish.

12 oz. can. Pours a clear dark brown color with a large fluffy tan head that collapses down to a thin blanket of fine bubbles. The aroma is roasted malts, light sweeter milk chocolate, mild notes of earthy hops; pretty decent. The flavor has roasted malts, milk chocolate, some earthy hops, is medium bodied and smooth. This is a welcome addition to the portfolio of canned beers we have in the area.

Can, pours opaque molasses with scant mocha head, caramelly/roasty malt aroma, moderately sweet and roasty throughout, medium bodied with a sweet and creamy finish, a bit of tobacco in there as well. An outstanding porter.

12 ounce can, 6 pack packaging had a date of November 20, 2012 printed on it. Just not sure if thatís the canning date or the best by date. Since Revolution is new to Ohio, Iíll assume itís the canned on date. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, and some dark fruit. It tastes like roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, bittersweet chocolate and some light hops. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís smooth and has moderate carbonation. I think itís a good brew, at $9.99 a 6-pack Iíd buy this again.

12oz can poured into a plastic cup. Oodles of points for probably the best beer name ever. Otherwise, pours with a brown thick head. Its a good porter, roasted, not bitter, slightly milk. Some American hops peaking through but not entering Cascadian territory, just low alpha acids, perfect. Well attenuated, very drinkable. Apparently, they use some specialty Belgian malts in this, nice touch. They did a great job with this, a nice beer for the proletarian Eugene in all of us.

Dark in appearance with tan head. Roasty and malty with a bit of pepper flavor. A light fizz on the tongue. Nice beer

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2013 1st encounter with Revolution out of the corrupt city of Chicago. Not a bad offering at all. Nice malts with a little lactose on the back end. Quite herbal and hoppy for a porter.

Can... Poured near black with a thin, light tan head. Soft mouthfeel, some toasted sugars, cocoa, coffee with a pleasant malt character. Very nice tasting porter and not too much roast which I appreciate in the style. The higher abv seemed well masked.

Half of a 12oz can.. ABV labeled 6.8%. Dark brown / black color. Good thin light brown head, leaves good decent lace. Robust chocolate and dark fruit nose. Smooth, light carbonation. Medium to bigger body. Nice and full, good sort of creaminess - porters can sometimes be too thin for me, thatís not the case, here. Little chocolate, light bit of dark fruit, good robust character. Light bitter, light sweet taste, mostly just really easy to drink, perfect for a cold rainy day in December. Really solid. I would recommend this, and will most likely get it again.

dark porter. the main thing going on is a mild ancho chili flavor. not all that strong but manages to cover up most everything this beer has to offer. The chilli is a litte more subdued than most so this may appeal to a wider audience and its easier to drink. reminds me of ska mole but quite a bit thinner decent
