3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can. Pours very dark brown with a small brown head that fades pretty quickly. Roasted malt dominates the aroma but there are hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste is very creamy at first. Light sweetness, lots of roast and chocolate. The finish seems to lose the creaminess making it a tad watery. Kinda odd since the mouthfeel is pretty thick. Still solid overall but not memorable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz can generously given to me by beastiefan2k. The pour is a deep, hazed brown, with a full 3 inch khaki head. The head falls slowly. The aroma is light ash roast, a bit of mineral, and malt sweetness. The taste is mineral roast, dark chocolate, pine hop, and finishes with dry bitter sweet chocolate. The pine hop becomes more pronounced as the beer warms. The palate is medium to light bodied, low carbonation, and the mineral dry roast finish. Nice porter, great name, thanks for sharing Eugene.

100th rating for this beer. Draft at Olive’s, served in a pint glass. Pours a deep, mostly opaque brown with a small creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark and baker’s chocolate, earth, and nuts. The flavor is rich and chocolaty as well, with roasted malts, brownies, earth, and just a little burnt toast. Medium-bodied, with a smooth mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Solid porter.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz can from De Bierkoning @ home (says 6.8% ABV). Color is as good as black. Beige head, quickly receding to a thin layer. Aroma’s: roasted malts, ground coffee, chocolate, with fruit retronasal. Flavor is roasted, lightly sweet, fruity. Carbonation is a bit low which give this a bit of a thin mouthfeel. Short finish, with just a little dryness, roast & chocolate.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black and very thick with a medium deep tan head that leaves considerable lacing during its quick dissipation into a film. Aroma is quite enticing - chocolate chip cookies in the oven, dark chocolate, roasted malts...hint of something burnt - pretty solid overall. Flavor is a combination of sweet and roasted malts, dark chocolate, some hints of bittering hops, splash of smokiness, while remaining sweet overall. Palate is full and smooth and mildly carbonated. Ok, second beer from Revolution today, and I’m pretty impressed and excited to try more of their ’regulars’.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to pint. Looks good; black with foamy light beige lacing. Smells and tastes solid; dark chocolate and dark malt with a touch of roastiness. Average on the palate with (as someone else below described) a bit of a prickly mouthfeel (although not aversively so). A decent example of the style.
