Dark cola color with half finger of khaki colored head. Smells of bakers chocolate, anise, tea. Taste is a mix of the chocolate and anise, with a earthy roasted malt, cigarette ash, vanilla. Slick mouthfeel, slightly acidic, low bitter.

Dark thin body. Lots of cocoa roasted aroma. Huge chocolate taste. Very good. Need to get a few sixers.

On tap @ the brewpub. Dark chestnut brown. Chocolatey roasty profile; sweet dark chocolate, mocha undertones, roasty bitterness. Enjoyable.

One of the first Revolution beers that I got into, and still a go-to porter for me. Review from can. Deep cocoa brown to black with tan head. Very satisfying slickness to the mouthfeel, without being too cloying. Plenty of hop bitterness to balance out the powdery, bakers chocolate notes. Manages to be simple and complex at the same time, a local standout porter.

12 oz can courtesy of Josh. Thanks. Pours a dark brown with a big clumpy khaki colored head that has good retention. The aroma features sweet grains and toasty malts. The taste was mild chocolates and sweet mocha set in a very earthy malt base. The palate was very thin for a porter and the carbonation was lively. The finish was medium in duration and sweet. Overall: OK, but ... there are better porter options out there.

Nutty mild chocolate aroma. Deep brown pour with a thin tan head. Mild coffee in the taste with a Hint of cocoa powder. Nice soft carbonation that goes down smooth. Slightly woodsy hops to finish.

In a can from
Michelson and Morley restaurant. Pour is dark brown almost black with a thin medium brown head. Aromas of toasty caramel and slight piney hops. Flavor is the same. Good roasty malt and almost coffee. I taste a little dry hops and bitterness. Good for the style, not too sweet.

Refrigerator temperature. Not overly thick, nice aroma. Loses some flavor as the temperature increases. Nice malt

Dark, slightly cloudy, brown-black. Light tan head. Deep slightly sweet chocolate, touch of spice, earthiness. Slightly bitter, nice round malt sweetness. Medium heavy body, lighter carbonation, some acidity. Reasonably long finish. Quite good, very nicely balanced.

Pours an almost opaque dark cola color with a big tan head and nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with a slight burnt character, umami and dark chocolate. Tastes of roasted malt with slight smokey and burnt flavor. And just a bit of sweetness. Also umami, dark chocolate and some coffee with moderate amount of roasty bitterness. Finishes semi dry with some roasty bitterness. Mouthfeel is semi creamy with a medium/full body and moderate carbonation. Nice porter with big flavors.
