12 oz. Can from 6pk pours jet black with a 1 finger dark khaki head that settles quickly showing minimal lacing. Aromas of toffee, chocolate, roasted malt, bubble gum, candied sugar, booze. Mouthfeel has medium carbonation with some bittersweet chocolate and a creamy maltiness that somewhat dominates the palate with some slight hop tartness, chalkiness towards the finish. Do get some boozey burn in the throat by the time your done. A great session porter (?). Yep. So easy to down a few. One of my favorite beers currently.

at the brewpub .. . pours a dark brown black .. . light head, leaves good lacing .. . burnt leaves, and mild bitterness .. . palate is full, light roasty finish .. . pretty nice but a bit to simple .. . . .Who made this? Are you autistic?

12-oz. can. Pours deep, dark brown with just a hint of a tan head. Subdued nose of chocolate and a slight vegetal tone almost reminiscent of rhubarb. Light cocoa taste followed by cinnamon and a tiny touch of marshmallow. Lighter body than many porters with a somewhat chalky finish. Not bad.

Draft t revolution. Somewhat flat black pour. Chocolate aroma with light roast. Chocolate flavor light roast. Non dynamic but good. Medium mouthfeel

Aroma is dark/earthy malts, coffee and a hint of light bitterness. The flavor is dark malts, coffee, chocolate, fruit/berries and an acidic/tart finish.

Can. Not much aroma. Nice deep brown color. Small head. Great flavor sweet malt and light chocolate flavor. Very good.

12 oz can, Andersons. Dark cola pour; one-finger almost-fizzy brown head dissipates into nothing; nearly no lacing; lightly glass-coating upon swirling. Cola, black malt, chocolate, brown sugar, light roast. Nothing is terribly intense about this but it is full-flavored and full-bodied, and reasonably complex.

On tap at Florentine in Chicago. Deep brown pour with creamy tan head with moderate lacing. Fairly typical porter - roasted malts, chocolate and notes of ripe fruit. Nice mouthfeel and smooth drinking. Enjoyable beer.

Had it out of a can, poured a dark coffee color with a thick expresso colored head and even lacing. The taste is a delicious mild chocolate coffee that goes down very smooth.

Tasted from a 12oz. can. Poured opaque dark brown with a full, frothy brown head with even lacing. Well layered taste of malt with a hint of chocolate.
