3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Sammy (7034) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 10, 2012
On tap at the brewpub.A serviceable porter. Dark brown to black coloured body with a bit of head, lacey. Licorice and chocolate. Above average mouthfeel. Carbonation was right there. Decent drinkability, but I am coming out here paying good money and time to get something bold not something I could take out of the fridge for a couple of dollars.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. Sort of metallic aroma, plenty of roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate. A little bit grassy and lightly sweet from some toffee notes. Tastes of roasted malt and coffee for the most part. A little bit metallic, some grass, dark chocolate, and mild toffee and molasses sweetness.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ughsmash (6669) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2010
Cask at GTMW. Poured deep brown with a tall, looser beige head. The aroma picked up warm black patent maltage without much heft to it.. some earth and vanilla accented. The flavor found the same black patent and chocolate at the core.. some vanilla around.. OK moderate roast throughout. Medium-bodied at most on the palate.. not memorable by any stretch of the imagination.
