I LOVED this Christmas ale. Super piney, with tasting notes of orange citrus zest, a little bit of bitter hop, pine, grass, and a beautiful light brown pour. Already looking forward to my pour next Christmas!

On draught at Chuck's on S Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Clear reddish copper colour with an off-white head. Hoppy aromas. Taste has plenty of spruce and spices with hints of cinnamon and orange peel. Slightly strange mixture of a pine-dominated IPA, a sweet red ale and a spicy Christmas beer. Doesn't quite work for me...

Canned. Color is a scarlet-heavy orange-red. Head is medium in size, tan, and mostly lasting. Pine/spruce hop aroma is fresh and pungent, followed by fruity peach, dry almonds, and light vanilla cookie. Flavor is, at first, a rather surprising equilibrium of hoppy pine and bright, sweet peach, though the bitterness grows in intensity through a rather long flavor profile. I’m not certain what this is "spiced" with - there seems to be some baking spices, but nothing is very strong or overdone. I’d enjoy this regardless of the season.
