Bottle... Clear amber ale with a small, foamy, white head. Decent retention. The nose is a mélange of grapefruit, passionfruit, sugar cookie and tea biscuit. Medium-bodied and creamy with dancing carbonation. The flavor is well-balanced, providing medium-bitter notes of citrus rinds and grapefruit pith. Crisp, juicy, bittersweet finish. Bottle courtesy of BBB63!

Bottle at Andy’s courtesy of Jen. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Spicy hops on the nose, a faint hint of cattyness. Medium bodied, a bit sweet, chewy malt with some hops. Sweet into the finish with a bit of toastiness and a touch of bitterness. Not too bad.

Draft at Neons. Pours a clear gold with a small and resilient white head that laces the glass. Aroma of bready malts, tropical fruits, pine, grass - kind of funky and dank. Flavor of tropical fruits, sweet lemon, sweet dough, grass, straw, and sugar. Medium-bodied, with soft carbonation and a sweet, fruity, malty mouthfeel. Very good IPA.

Bomber bottle, pours a clean golden hue with a mostly lasting frothy head and very good lacework upon the glassware. The aroma has big citrus and tropical fruit esters along with light dankness and resiny notes. Minerally earthiness along with fresh bready grains as well. The taste is uber balanced with brash bitterness countered by fair handed maltiness supported by some spicy and earthy notes. Lively mouth feel with some metallic notes, not overly aggressive nor sharp. The finish is indeed dry but a tad short for my only bitch about this. This exceeded my expectations since many of the styled new hop breed IPA are one-note or just too high alpha. This is takes me to the cliff edge but does not push me over. Mikey Likey and I hope Eric does too.

In short: A basic pale American IPA with an appreciable dryness. Decent.
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed (probably fresh) immediately after receiving it from cetherid, thanks a lot Chris .
The look: Almost clear orangy golden body topped by a persistent off-white head.
In long: Nose is only moderately hoppy with basic fruity (citrusy and others) and light piney notes, a beer that uses new breed of hops to create a common American IPA aroma. In mouth the beer has a body that is a bit on the light side and medium carbonation. Discreet semi-toasted cereals, low sweetness sensation, not-so-assertive hopping leading to a medium and dry bitterness that is mostly fruity. The rather dry finish makes it a bomber you can drink in a matter of minutes, I know I did. Not very tasty, far from aromatic by today’s standard, but highly drinkable. I give this one a passing grade even though there was nothing special here. A Galaxy Hero sounds like an awesome powerful hero, plus we need to replace Superman anyway because in 2013 the poor dude just can’t find a phone booth to change anymore.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bomber shared by Brandon - thanks! Nice pineapple and mango citrus nose and taste - more pronounced on taste than smell. Well balanced. Light and crisp.
