Thin-ish body from the pour, certainly brown (not black) in color. Good lace, not much head. Some lacto sugars in the nose, though they are entirely absent in the taste. A pretty good (basic) stout, nothing special here.

Bottle on Amtrak Train 27 - The Empire Builder ( from Binny’s South Loop) - 04/11/12. Mid black with a frothy head that clears to the edges. Nose comprises roast malt, chocolate, molasses, liqourice, touch of smoke. Taste of milk chocolate, roast malt, a little hops. Alcohol well disguised for 7.5% ABV! Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a roast finish. Decent milk stout.

Bottle, pours a black color with a medium beige head, spotty lcaing patterns. Notes are nice and roasty, with some milk cocoa, sweet malts, candy sugars, and some vanilla bean. Super silky mouth with a good bit of carbonation, awesome aftertaste of smoked nuts, burn sugar, bitter coffee and vanilla sweetness. Pretty earthy overall in flavor. Solid milk stout.

Thanks for the share, Markwise. Nose is chocolate/cocoa, some light roast, and a faint sweetness. Pour is dark brown. Tan head. Taste is sweet roasted malt with some nice cocoa and chocolate flavors. Sweet and delicious.

Big bold robust coffee scents. Taste is similar, lots of coffee with a bit of chocolate. Has a big bitter finish, mouth feel isn't as creamy as I thought. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I liked this one, from the start the aroma gave off a soft cocoa aroma with some light roasted malts as well. This sweet stout is very creamy and full of dark chocolate flavors, leading to a smooth bitter finish. Thanks for the share - you know who you are.

GABF. Nice brown pour, creamy head. Aroma has some great chocolate milk notes, lactose sugar, roasted malt takes a back seat. Flavor is sweet, chocolate, sweet, smooth and really good!

Bottle from pantanap...thanks Kan! - Pours cola-black with a thin tan head. Nose is a nice blend of milky, creamy sweetness and medium-dark roast. A bit of butterscotch and vanilla, as well as a little astringency. Taste is smooth up front--lots of sweet vanilla, some molasses, and a touch of brown sugar, transitioning into a charred, espresso finish. Bitter and astringent finish. A little thin in the mouth, making it feel a bit watery. Not a ton of carbonation. This felt promising, but was a bit of a letdown.

On tap in Denver for GABF 2012. Pours a black color with a medium tan head. A nice big milky nose with chocolates. The flavor is a rich milk chocolate with light metallic roast, very smooth. Good.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Blackish pour with a creamy tan head and patchy lacing. Roasted coffee and malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and molasses. Sweet malty finish with some mild coffee lingering. Above average overall.
