Bottle from atom. Pours a deep brown with thin khaki head. Aroma is light roast coffee with minimal milk chocolate. Taste is light cocoa milk with a thin coffee bean. Overall the silky milk makes this but a little thin in the mouth.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with a three finger, fluffy tan head. Aroma is roast, chocolate, sweet malt, caramel, a little char, lactose and sweet nutty notes. Flavor is roast, chocolate, dark fruit and bread crust up front, then a big wave of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, dark caramel and lactose sweetness in the middle, finishes with lingering lactose, dark fruit, roast and chocolate, some dry leaves, piney and grassy hops. Medium to heavy body, creamy to gloopy entry, light, but very blanketing and quite sharp carbonation and gloopy to slightly dry finish. Good stuff overall, a little too gloopy, and the dark fruit notes just do not work well with the rest of the beer, or possibly and milk stout.

Look: pours a thin black. Tan head, very thick and pillowy. See brown hues around the edge.
Smell: chocolate. Roasted malts. Sweetness. Slight alcohol burn.
Taste: big roasted malts. Coffee. Bitter chocolate.
Feel: slightly thin for a stout. Medium low carbonation.
Overall: decent beer. Not as chocolatey as I like but still a good beer.
First drank: home 4/12/15

Dark pour with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt and the sweetness of lactose. Taste is roasted malt, lactose. The balance of lactose and roasted malt just hit it right for me. Wonderful One of the better milk stouts I’ve had. Creamy. Nice lacing.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from Antioch. Pours cola colored with a bit of an off-white head. Aroma has cafe au lait, simple sugar and caramelly malts. A lactose-y presence as well. Taste is of sweet caramel - overlayered - with some chocolate notes, some lactose and sugar. Quite sweet and medium bodied with alcohol. Finishes sweet with light bitterness. Long, strong and sweet. The barreled versions are better when the sweetness is cut a bit. 14.1

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22oz bomber poured into a tulip glass. Soft, but present aromas of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and lactose sugar are noticeable. There’s also a slight hint of bourbon-like alcohol in there. It pours a clear and oily dark cola brown color with a light, soapy, light brown head. The head reduces down to a medium thick, sudsy ring with a filmy and soapy surface. A very light soapy lace is left behind. The taste is a medium sweet with a touch of bitter. The beer is a buzzy, creamy and stick, full bodied beer with notes of chocolate, cola, and a hint of nuts. The finish is grainy and slightly woody with caramel and a touch of alcohol warmth. The aftertaste is fairly clean with a light licorice and toast quality.

Draft at The Brass Tap, served in a snifter. Pours a dark brown with a deep Amber hue and a centimeter off-white head that settles into a ring and leaves spots of lace. Aroma of toast, mild roast, chocolate, milk sugar, tobacco, and toffee. Flavor of chocolate, lactose, candied nuts, cream, tobacco, and mellow roast. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, sweet mouthfeel. Good sweet stout.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Dark brown-red with a large, bright white head that is slowly yet mostly diminishing. Malt heavy aroma is rich of roasted malt, bittersweet cocoa, molasses and mild coffee. Lightly sweet flavor with pin pricks of roasty bitterness. Extremely light carbonation, and the lactose is noticeable in the slick, lightly creamy texture. Finish has notes of bittersweet chocolate and light rye bread. A straightforward sweet stout, well made and a good representation of the style. A nice change from the imperial stouts flooding the market.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap @ Revolution: Deep, black center with dark ruby edges; a light beige collar rests around the edges of the brew. Aroma is outlined with a HUGE dried prune character & big, leafy tobacco notes. Large earthiness with a dark fruit, offsetting sweetness. Not what I expected from this lactose brewed milk stout, but I dig the prune-tobacco combo nonetheless. The taste is a replication of the aroma; huge notes of prune, dried dates, leafy tobacco, & some earthy char. I can detect a very moderate, dry cocoa bean flavor in the finish, but it certainly seems tertiary. I normally don’t favor stouts with heavy dark fruit flavors, but the prune aspect isn’t overly sweet here, & the earthy tobacco elements balance everything nicely. A nice stout.

Love this milk stout from revolution. Strong black coffee flavor and bitterness with a milk backbone. Had this out of a bomber at home
