Aged in Woodford Reserve barrels for 8 months, our deliciously roast chocolatey Eugene Porter now packs a punch.

This entry shares a place for the original Barrel Aged Eugene entry which was aged in a Heaven Hill barrels for 6 months.

22 oz bottle. Shared in the line at the 4 Elf Party. The pour is a darker brown. There are hints of ruby through the light tn head. There is a little chocolate and coffee detected in the nose, but a drowning our factor of bourbon. There is potential for something great, but the bourbon just dominates. The flavor is much of the same. I wish there was more going on than bourbon and a smidge of coffee, but I can’t say there is. The mouth feel is a little thin, and this baby has a nice bourbon-y burn most of the way down

Nice for a cold dreary day. Dark brown pour from a bomber, some off white head. Nice bourbon nose with some chocolate notes. Nice chocolate and roasted malt taste - bourbon is there but not overpowering. Adds just a nice heat, vanilla and caramel in the finish.

Bottle shared poured a black color with aromas of chocolate, coffee, earth, oak, and bourbon. Flavors are the same, a lot of barrel character in this beer, which is disappointing, I liked the regular Eugene a lot and the flavors were over shadowed by the bourbon, and oak.

Poured deep brown tall dark beige head. The aroma was sweet and bourbonny upfront, over well-roasted (near-burnt) black patent and molasses. Sweeter chocolate undertones. great balance! The flavor found warm, burnt black malts cut by milkier sugars and vanilla.. sweet bourbon and toasty oak laced throughout.. solid balance, but not quite up to par with the nose. Heavy-bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. I really enjoyed this!

Draft at local option. Black pour with off white head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, cocoa, malts, coffee. Taste had the same. Very smooth and the whiskey is perfect kicker. Love this

Good, not great. I liked the bourbon component. Present but not overwhelming. Smooth but not in the background. However, was expecting more from the porter flavor. A little thin and overcarbonated. Seems like it needed some more aging to become more mature. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle (22 oz). From pantanap, thanks! Black with a small to medium off-white head and little lacing. Aroma is enticing with bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, wood, roasted malt and some boozy notes. Taste is moderately sweet with tons of chocolate, vanilla, wood, bourbon, roasted malt and light alcohol. Medium body (a tad thin for an Imperial Porter). Moderate carbonation. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Good Imperial/Strong Porter with the nose being the most interesting aspect. Quite complex.

Almost black in color with a khaki head. Roasted malt, some bourbon, and cocoa. Oak, tons of green apple, and a touch of solvent on the nose. The flavor is solventy and heavy on the green apple. Roasted malt, bourbon, cocoa, and some coffee. Not very pleasant.

Bottle from Binnys, pours a dark cola color with a tan head. Aroma of whiskey, wood and slight apple (not familiar with Woodford). Taste slight chocolate, lots of whiskey flavor, nice barrel character, solid beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
