Bottle pour thanks to my friend Josh. Pours a darker brown to black with a khaki colored head of foam. The aroma is sweet bourbon and chocate and vanilla beans. The taste is sweet and boozy with vanilla coming through nicely. Thicker mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bomber. Pours black with a putty brown head formed of tightly grouped bubbles. Head rapidly falls to a thin, even ring. Incredibly rich molasses aroma with caramel, oaky-sweet bourbon, toasted marshmallow and dry bakers cocoa. Flavor is moderately sweet with very subtle alcohol underneath lightly bitter roast coffee, smooth caramel candies and milk chocolate. Silky, almost milky mouthfeel. Almost buttery wood notes become more pronounced in the finish as it warms. Phenomenal porter.

Great porter with a classic flavor combining roasted malts, chocolate, and hints of vanilla. The aging has mellowed the brew and added some nice depth. A great example of how barrel-aging should be done.

Boozy. The beer is dark brown. A dark tan head sits on top. The aroma is a brown ale with some booze. The flavor is like a porter with deep roasted malts. Some barrel aging. Light sourness. Deep malty body that finishes clean. Much better flavor than aroma.

Thanks Bill Dark brown pour whisky tan head. Bourbony aroma quite boozy. Lacks depth some chocolate. Well coated palate. Rich slightly syrupy taste bourbon & butter. Overly one dimensional

Bomber received as extra in trade. Thank you rfraga7! Pours murky blackish brown with a frothy and slightly fizzy dark mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and slightly boozy with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, charred wood, toffee, sweet liquorice candy, shredded coconut, molasses, soil, sweet dark bread and hints of chocolate, coffee and raisins. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter, malty with heavily roasted malts, brown sugar sweetened dark roast coffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, sweet dark bread, oatmeal cookies, mineral water, bitter chocolate, roasted coconut, orange zest and hay. Mouthfeel is spritzy, round, tiny roasted astringent, tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, charred wood, vanilla fudge, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, minerals, soil, orange zest and burnt toast. Very high and aggressive carbonation which both adds to and ruins the beer. Interesting and quite tasty.

Bottle... Pours very dark brown (nearly black) with a small, creamy, khaki head. Good retention. Aroma is a malty, roasted swirl of milk chocolate, bourbon, toasted coconut and vanilla. Medium to full-bodied with spritzy carbonation. Flavor is semisweet vanilla, nuttiness and just the right amount of bourbon. Acrid, lightly acidic, fudge finish. Over-carbonation is the only problem here. Bottle courtesy of BBB63!

[Bottle] Pours an inky black color with a small amount of brown foam on top. Initial aromas of bitter chocolate and bourbon/alcohol. Taste is of roasted and charred malts, moderate amount of bourbon, vanilla, ash and mild anise. Oily texture and coating mouthfeel. Lingering notes of mocha and alcohol. A solid beer, and one of my favorites during a barrel aged tasting. Tasting notes from 2/2014.
