4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Revolutionís Kedzie brewery. Pours a dark reddish orange with lasting off-white head and fair lacing. Aroma is full of piney and citrus hops plus sweet caramel malts. Taste is mostly sweet with a slightly bitter hoppy finish. Body is medium with a creamy mouthfeel and not too much carbonation. If I had tasted this blindfolded, I would have called it a good Imperial IPA.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Has a huge citrusy hop scent with a malty background. Taste is a strong pine bitterness, finished a little rough for me.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
poured from tap at revolution. Pours a dark red color with a small foamy head.
Very good and malty aromas with notes of grains, hops, some bits of citrus and malts. Very good depth as well.
Medium/full bodied. Very smooth with some real nice polish and flavors of grains, citrus, and hops.
One of revís best brews that Iíve had. Real good depth with real good balance as well. This is a damn good amber ale.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this on cask at the brewpub. Huge head on top of a clear red pour. Aroma is a little strange. Almost smells like foot funk. Not much else going on there. Taste has some nice citrus notes. Some bitter pine elements too. Iíd like to try this on keg for a 2nd opinion. It was super mellow on cask.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewpub -- notes from May 28th, 2011.
Pours a very deep, clear, brassy gold topped with a bit of foam that doesnít have much staying power. Aroma is reminiscent of an American IPA with piny, floral, citrus hops, which is a bit odd for a red ale. Flavor is also hoppy, bitter, floral, and a touch piny followed by a good kick of caramel malt and a dose of red licorice, Medium body with a dry-hop and caramel aftertaste. Tastes more like a red ale than it smells, but still quite hoppy for the style.
