3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
on tap @ Farmhouse in Chicago. Bright pink-orange colour, minimal head. Aroma is yeasty and perfumey. Flavours of pale malts and subtle hibiscus flowers. Pretty light. DDC makes a more nuanced and refreshing hibiscus ale.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Burgermania. Gentle flavor of cherry with floral notes, light but enjoyable, specially when wisely paired with a wonderful Cherry Burger.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear ruby amber with a thin white head. Soft floral musk on the nose. Medium bodied, lightly sweet, dries out into crisp floral notes, musk, hibiscus sweetness. Grainy wheat.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a dark golden copper color with bright orange edges and a half finger white head that quickly settles. Decent retention with sporadic spots of soapy lacing left behind.
Floral aroma with a nice balance of delicate grassy hops and a sweet malt backbone. Citrus doesn’t really comes through but the floral/hibiscus notes stand out as the most prominent characteristic in the nose.
Sweet and slightly tart but not sour or acidic with a stronger citrus zest presence than the nose suggests. This is countered by sweet malt and zesty spices. Slightly tart blood orange along with coriander, caramel sweetness, bread and biscuit. Not too complex but well balanced, refreshing and easy to drink.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at AQ Bevolution’s event at Qbrick.Half-pint. Rosa hibiscus is a reddish orange pour with a floral fruity nose. Light bodied and soda like - the taste reminds me of that pink cream soda I sometimes had as a kid. Sweet, floral, fruity and very dry.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can from Tanakaya. Light berry and floral aromas. Thin body, but not overly so. Some malt is there. Not sweet either, kind of dry and enjoyable, but still a little one dimensional. Unpopular seasonal makes it’s way to Japan part 100.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Grub. Another unpopular seasonal makes its way to Japan? Floral, caramel, fruity, light and sweet. It’s nice, but i imagine it might become a bit sickly. We’ll see. Actually wasn’t so bad, but still not so exciting.

Ok somewhat bitter beer. Not objectionable but not so interesting. Worth a try. Mid mouthfeel.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Light floral nose, with berries and tomato. Light strawberry pink color, small head, thin lace. Berries, tart cherry, and light citrus. Thin body. Nice enough, especially in warm weather. Doesn’t have the tinny metallic note that many flower-infused beers do.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Reddish Amber pour. Lots of floaties. Medium head that dissipates to leave decent lacing. Nose is rose, red wine, and honey. Light to medium mouthfeel. Taste is a mouthful of flower essence and honey, with a slap of herbal hops at the end. Not a fan.
