Nice golden color, slightly off white head. Flavors of grapfruit, lemon, honey, biscuity malt. Damn good stuff.

Had this on draft at the revolution taproom/brewery. Pine and honey aroma. Thick pour. Very bitter. Citra and floral. Huge beer. Love it

I enjoyed this IPA quite a bit, because there’s a significant amount of sweetness to balance the bitterness. On tap at Revolution brewpub in Chicago.

On tap at Revolution, Chicago. In addition to typical IPA notes here, there’s also sweet fruitiness to it which adds a enjoyable complexity to it. Refreshing.

Draft on March 27th, 2013 at Churchkey. Aroma kind of soapy for some reason. Medium bitterness, some orange. Medium body. Okay, not great.

Growler from Kedzie taproom. Pours a clear orange/copper color with small off-white head and very little lacing. Aroma is full of citrus hops (grapefruit, orange) with some pine resin and barely any malts. Taste is initially sweet like orange juice with some dank dead-mouse hoppiness in the middle, and then more hops and some alcohol in the finish. Body is medium without too much carbonation. Mouthfeel is oily. After enjoying Double Fist several times, I was looking forward to this one. The bartender expained, accurately, that Double Fist is more malt-forward, making this something of a hop bomb. I was somewhat disappointed in the lack of balance and the dank hop taste that I find in only a few IIPAs (notably Lupulin Maximus). Fortunately, it gets better as it warms up.

on tap at the pub. A little surprised about the bad previous reviews. Maybe this batch is much better because I thought this was pretty good... Pours a super dark orange, lots of copper in the middle, clear accept for dead middle. The head is light, poor retention and lacing. Great color but bad head, what are you to do?... The aroma is shockingly weak for a dipa, also very sweet. Grapefruit and orange sweet, missing the malt. Sweet simcoe hops, a touch of pine on the finish. Subtle but good. With malt and strong would be awesome... The taste is very bitter compared to the nose, but in a good way. The front shows off the malt, caramel with grapefruits, then medium pine resin throughout. Resin alcohol finish, but missing the overall typical chemical/alcohol/resin of a dipa. Very drinkable but still makes me go meh a little. I’d have again but not awesome.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a lightly hazed, copper-gold colored body with a finger-width, creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is somewhat juicy oranges and grapefruit pines with a moderate caramel sweetness and a light bread. Some nice florals and tropical resins come out more as this warms. Flavor is similar. Lots of piney citruses with oranges, grapefruits, and tangerines. Some nice florals again with some sweeter resins. Moderate caramel to balance while letting the hops clearly stand out and grow slightly towards the end where this finishes dry with a moderate, piney, resiny, floral bitterness that leaves a lengthy aftertaste. Medium body and soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a very flavorful DIPA. Lots of hops with a solid balance. It is a tad sweet, but I thought it worked really well. Excellent.

Draft, pours golden with white head. Aroma has a juicy hop citrus and pine. Flavors have piney grapefruit notes, clementines, and long bitterness. Good dose of sweet candy sugar but the finishes bitter enough and clean. Nice simple malt base. Touch sweet and boozy but pretty solid iipa.

Sampled at DLD2010. Girlfriend got me this on the guest draft. I’m guessing drinking a whole glass of this was part of my downfall that day. Big, super hoppy aroma with a ton of citrus, bitter. Flavor is bitter, with a lot of caramel. Some floral hops and fairly balanced, but a bit sweet. I am looking forward to more from this brewery.
