22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/23/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep gold color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, light toast, spicy rye and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with bright citrus/grassy hops with moderate toast/rye malt presence; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, pine, light toast, spicy rye, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of grassy/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light toast, spicy rye, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity and balance of juicy citrus/grassy hops and light-moderate toast/rye malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice rye IPA. All around good complexity and balance of juicy citrus/grassy hops with light-moderate toast/rye malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours gold with white head and no lacing. Aroma of grassy hops and rye. Taste is toasty, full of rye, and bitter. Very enjoyable to drink.

[Tap] Draught at Farmhouse in Evanston. Spicy rye and lemon zest in the aroma. More rye, sweet caramel, biscuits and steady citrus hop bite to round out the flavor. A little chalky and quite dry in the finish. I am always a sucker for a good rye beer, and this one fits the bill.

A: Rich clear copper with decent head that lingers around for a bit. S: Faint rye spice with tropical fruit dominating (grapefruit, mango, pineapple, light tangerine). Some carbonic bite. T: Some rye upfront with some tropical fruit. Bready rye in the finish. I get some metallic sensation too. M: Crisp and easy to drink. O: Pretty good but not too blown away.

Draft at the brewery. From notes. Loads of citrus with the rye really coming through. Great beer.

bottle via archer liquors. Thanks Randy! A huge half danky half tropical hop nose that damn near makes my noise go into heaven. a slightly hazy dark yellow to dark gold color with white head that fades quickly with excellent lacing. very grapefruit. wow. malt is smooth and subtle with a hint of pepper and spice. dry enough to let the hops shine, but sturdy enough to stand up to a more than medium hop bitterness. that hop presence seems to dry out the beer. wow. this is good.

On tap at Warren’s Ale House in Wheaton, IL. for their Illinois Craft Beer Toast & Roast event. Dispensed to a tulip showing a bright & clear, deep golden color, with good persistence to the white, frothy head foam, and thick, wavy lacing. The aroma was expressively floral & citrus, with spicy & resinous hints. Medium bodied, the taste was similar notes as the nose, adding a touch of sweetness, and hop bitterness that was better than medium strength, and quite lingering. Very tasty, with some rye dryness partnering up with the bitterness at the finale.

Lemon in the nose and taste. It has a spice to it. Very nice and rather enjoyable. Lingering bitterness. They do good with their pales and iPas... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark golden/amber with almost no head but a ton of carbonation. Nose is very citrusy and floral. A lot of grapefruit, pineapple, orange zest and rye. Some resin. Mouth is very crisp. The very similar to the aroma but the rye is much more present. A slightly bitter finish.
