COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This crisp refreshing rye IPA is the latest installment in our Repo Man soundtrack series. The toasty rye flavor is nicely balanced with a floral, spicy hop aroma to make one potent yet drinkable ale.

An ode to Black Flag (cue the bass line, Hank ready on the mic)... ’TV party tonight! TV party tonight! TV party tonight!’ Okay, so that’s out of the way... this is a bomber, pours clear, a lighter shade of amber, thin white head that disappeared faster than punk rock after heroin became the drug of choice... nose is candied orange, a hint of pine, malt (average). Mouth is surprisingly bigger than the nose -- medium bodied, hoppy pine bitterness up front mingled with some malt, rye spiciness, bready notes, then a whole lot of bitterness that lingers and fades out with a subtle oakiness. Drinkable, but I don’t think Gregg Ginn and Chuck Dukowski would approve. ;-)

Solid RPA. Citrus hops are prominent with a gritty spice rye flavor, mouthfeel is moderate and slightly slick. medium carbonation. grapefruit on the finish especially.

22oz bottle, shared by tmoney99. Clear tangerine orange color. Thin off-white head. Little lace. Good citrusy hop nose. some grapefruit citrus hops. Lightly spicy hop. Zesty, light bitter taste. Rye is in check, not too big, well blended. Nothing too exciting, but a solid rye IPA.

I don’t get the allure. . . as with most of the Revolution brews. This one just doesn’t seem Rye enough or IPA enough to be a Rye IPA. Yellowish copper color; slight carbonation; watery mouth feel; dry finish-- none of it makes the type of bold impact you would expect. There is a clear predominant bitterness. But it seems one dimensional and simplistic. On the plus side, you do get some hop flavor, and it’s somewhat drinkable because it’s not "too big." But who wants a Rye IPA that’s not too big?

Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate floral hop and toasted rye aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. Very good brew.

On tap at brewery. Pours a nice clear orange with moderate white head and some lacing. Aroma has rye malts, orange peel, flowers, and lots of good bitter hoppiness. Body is only medium with slight carbonation. Taste is bitter, especially on the finish, but this is not overdone. This would be a very solid IPA even without the rye. Another winner. (After sampling 5 different beers on my last visit to the brewery, this was my choice for the growler I brought home.)

Very tasty rye IPA that doesn’t overdo it on either end of the spectrum. Founders Red Rye PA is what I measure this type of beer by and this is pretty good. Nice orange color and pours with a modest white head and some moderate lacing. Had it at the brewery in a tulip glass. Aroma has lots of hop citrus and floral on the nose. The rye part comes out more in the actual taste as you get a few sips in. It’s well balanced and quick to go down. Another winner from RevBrew.

Kind of a bland one. THe flavor rolls across the tounge. Bitterness is low, carbonation is low, and the overall hop character could be amped up. The rye adds a pleasant oatmeally taste but doesn’t help the beer.

Tap at DLD12. Cherry, orange and rye malt aroma. Golden yellow color with small head. Sweet orange, rye malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. A great rye beer.

Tap at Dark Lord Day. Floral grapefruit hop aroma. Clear golden amber with a large off-white head. Sweet malt, rye bread, floral hops flavor. Medium body. Nice.
