On draft at Kedzie brewery. Pours a dark reddish brown with tiny head. Aroma has peat, cherries, toffee, and smoked wood. Long earthy aftertaste. Body is medium to full. This one didn’t knock me out, but was very enjoyable.

I am not a fan if scotch so beer he'd in scotch ales don't excite me. Really tastes like a good smooth scotch. Has hat chared barrel flavor. Pours a dark brown in color. Had a revs tap room.

On tap at the brewpub. Great beers and some great food. Pours very dark with a thin tan head. A decent woodiness/smokiness in the nose with a hint of scotch. Pretty solid body and flavor. Malts, scotch and the smokeyness come trough. Pretty well balanced brew that is very enjoyable.

Deep red pour with a thin head. Hardly any aroma. Mouth is medium. Taste is very earthy and full of oak & cherry. Something in there tasted slightly off, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

I enjoyed this Wee Heavy from RevBrew. A lovely woodiness on the nose, followed by intense malt flavor that balances out the body of this Scotch Ale. Great brew!

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2014 5/15/11 On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown red. Aroma of cherries and earthy peat. Candied sweet. Fruit alcohol syruppy. Too much boozyness. Bitter sweet. Not bad. 8/3/7/3/15
On tap at the taproom. Pours that Brown red with a beige head. light on the aroma but there is that peat smoke, caramel, chocolate, and red fruit. Slightly sweet charred smoke wood. Dry earthy bitter vanilla finish. Not too sweet and the right amount of smoke. Not boozy like it used to be. Solid.

Revolution’s pairing beer at the Chicagoland BPSO, dispensed to my fest glass showing a clear, deep copper hue, with a frothy, tan head, and curtainy cling to the lacing. The nose was some sweet woodiness, a touch of caramel, a little fruitiness, lurking alcohol presence, and subtle smokiness that may have been more intense, but was highly masked by all of the kitchen smells that filled the air at the event. Medium+ bodied, the taste showed a healthy malt content, some pit fruit sweetness, and alcohol warmth. Flavorful, with a complementary short rib food pairing.
