On draft at Kedzie brewery. Pours a dark reddish brown with tiny head. Aroma has peat, cherries, toffee, and smoked wood. Long earthy aftertaste. Body is medium to full. This one didn’t knock me out, but was very enjoyable.

On tap at the brewpub. Great beers and some great food. Pours very dark with a thin tan head. A decent woodiness/smokiness in the nose with a hint of scotch. Pretty solid body and flavor. Malts, scotch and the smokeyness come trough. Pretty well balanced brew that is very enjoyable.

Deep red pour with a thin head. Hardly any aroma. Mouth is medium. Taste is very earthy and full of oak & cherry. Something in there tasted slightly off, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

I enjoyed this Wee Heavy from RevBrew. A lovely woodiness on the nose, followed by intense malt flavor that balances out the body of this Scotch Ale. Great brew!

On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown red. Aroma of cherries and earthy peat. Candied sweet. Fruit alcohol syruppy. Too much boozyness. Bitter sweet. Not bad. 8/3/7/3/15

In tap into a snifter at the pub... This looks great, a dark molasses brown, glassy amber sheen to it. A light tan head about one finger, good retention and lacing. Looks great... The aroma is tons of peat, bark, smoke, scotch, a hint of salt, toffee. Very sharp but pretty good... The taste has way too much scotch and smoke, too liquorish for me, very hot... This is tastey but a sipper. If you’re a scotch ale fan try it, but I wouldn’t have it again.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep brown colored body with a ruby tint to it. Finger-width, dense and creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is caramel with a chocolate dusting and a soft, smoked wood. Some peat and a touch of dark fruit. Flavor is really nice and there is a lot of it. Caramel, toffee, and more of a distinct, sweetly smoked wood. More peat, a touch of raisiny dark fruit, and a light earth before this finishes smooth and dry with a really nice mix of sweet, smoke, earth, and wood. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and soft, light carbonation. Overall, a very flavorful scotch ale. Just enough sweetness and a very pleasant smoked wood with a balanced earthy peat. Nice one.

Draft at rev, pours dark brown with off white head. Nose of sweet cherry wood and brown sugar, raisin finishes. Flavors chocolate, raisin, cherry wood, hints of smoke. Med body. Too sweet and not smokey enough.

Very nice stuff. Sweet and malty, but not cloying. The smokiness was fainter to me than other raters have described. Maybe the class too cold? Serving: Tap
