Hoppy brown ale. Compared to the Workingman mild, it’s stronger, more bitter and has a perfume that you won’t forget. $5 pint (6% ABV)

Tap sample. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted malt and earthy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid complex toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a clear dark brown color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and roasted malt. Light body with a roasty character and flavors of bready malt, hops and chocolate. The finish is sweet with a toasted malt aftertaste. Decent all around.

Very thin body. Looks like an amber lager but a little more brown thin head. Light earthy aroma. The taste is full and mild. Pretty darn good really. Not too sweet or bitter.

Party member mug at the tap room. Reddish brown with a beige head. Toasted malt aroma with fruity kool-aid. Bitter fruit hops that wipe out that toasted malt. It felt bright and bitter at first but it’s becoming muddled with the toasted malts and faded red fruits. Still decent.

Reddish pour with great lacing. Single finger head. Aroma of grain. Mouth is thin. The taste is sweet but with a very bitter finish. Great balance here.

Filtered amber-brown. Thin white/off-white head. Fruity amber and brown malt aroma. A touch odd, bitter caramel tones, slight burnt taste. Clean on the palates, but some faint buttery off tones. Toasty, but doesn’t nail it.

Sample at the brewpub. Lots of red with brown. A small tan head with nice lacing. Sweet, malty, and not really complicated enough. Not bad, though.

this poured a good solid brown color. darker nose but not on the big and rich side. Balanced and aromatic with tones of caramel, malts, and chocolate tones medium bodied with a good feel, but the tones aren’t as deep as they are on the nose. The flavor that dominates is mostly caramel with some malt tones as well this is a quality brown ale. Balanced and easy drinking that is enjoyable with a good caramel finish
