Cask at CBC Clerkenwell, near black with a fast-settling head, lots of cocoa, a little umami, a little watery, pretty burnt-bitter, more a chocolate Porter than a London Porter.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
September 21, 2014 - at Craft Clapham; on handpull. Black pour with a smallish beige/tan foamy/creamy head - some legs on the side of the glass too. Aroma - nice! - oil, tar, rope, burnt pumpernickle and coffee - lovely friggin’ stuff. Taste follows, more straightforward - nutty, a bit of iodine but less earthy sharpness - I swear I got some burnt marzipan in there; good. Thick, oily mouthfeel - a bit still, medium length somewhat charred finish - lovely beer.
