2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hazy orange color, no head. Cereals, grainy, a bit sweetish aroma. Light to medium bodied. Grainy, sweet malty, unfermented sugars. Lively carbonation. Very typical "mass brewpub" beer. I am not impressed.
Earlier Rating: 1/28/2005 Total Score: 2.2
Golden color, small creamy off-white head. Hoppy (Saaz?) nose, only slightly skunked. Some grassy hops in the flavor. malty finish. Not really hoppy enough to be a pilsener, but quite different to the most of other Latvian "gaisais" I have sampled.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2014 Tap (Brewery Olleklubi) as dodgy fake name (5:4:6:3:11=2.9)
Almost wheatbeery, with it’s rich orange, and haze. tiny ring head. Sweet, almost corny, aroma. Similar in the mouth, perhaps a touch of honey. Fullish smooth palate, but quite harsh carbonation for a snowy night. Light graininess in the finish, just a hint of They seem to have at least temporarily cured the diacetyl disaster they were suffering from. Pretty drinkable, but as I’ve just eaten and drunk to my full, I found it hard to get something with this level of carbonation down.

Sweet and corny. Fizzy, too harsh. Needs swirling a lot. Then the corniness resembles grains more. These beers all still need work, clearly.

5+ Sweet treacly aroma, Anna gets some ginger.
4 Hazy reddy orange. Settles to a small head after a big frothy pour.
5 Very latvian. A touch lactic, but very full of a simple grainy taste.
3 Pleasant mouthfeel. Finish has a new taste for me - the raw, freshly steeped malt grains.
11 Super easy to drink lager, maybe a bit sweet, but it goes down so easily.
Rerate: Tap (Folks Klubs, Riga) as "Rezenkes Gords Ols" apparently at 4.6% not sure this is the right place for the review (6:3:6:3:12+=3.0+)
Nice deep reddy orange. Nice sweet dunkel, caramel forward. Easy drinker, but a bit thin for a dunkel.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Medium offwhite lasting head. Hazy yellow body with light carbonation. Minty resiny aroma with freshly cut wood notes. Dryish resiny minty taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish mealy fruity spearmint aftertaste with mealy notes. Weird. More like toothpaste than beer. (0.3l draft S. Brevinga, Riga. Accidentally also rated from Alus Stacija, Riga, with exact same scores.)

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
(Draught at Brewery Ôlleklubi, 20120704) The beer poured deep golden and quite hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, grass, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A harsh beer with excessive sweetness put on top of everything.
