ante (2451), Stockholm (Bromma), Sweden May 8, 2008 Bottled, clear brown colured with a small white foam. Rather fresh aroma of soily and grassy fops with nutty undertones. Medium-bodied with notes of chocolate-crackers, nuts and soil and fresh grassy hops. Medium-bitter and crisp finish of grassy and orangey hops with sweetish notes of nuts and oranges in the background.
patrick767 (1386), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 25, 2008 draft at 3 Alley in Seoul - They called the beer Rhenania Brown. I’m going to assume it’s this one and not the Krefelder which only two people have rated. The beer was a medium brown color with a one finger white head. It was light to medium bodied with a sweet malt flavor, some mild bitterness, and a touch of nut. Not bad. omhper (10141), Stockholm, Sweden May 26, 2008 Bottled, thanks jeverszeuge! Clear copper colour, minimal head. Roasty earthy aroma. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel. Salty and earthy, fairly light bodied. Salty bitterish finish. Not as deep as the real altbiers from cask, but still with a good amount of flavour. asheft (717), Marburg, Germany Mar 17, 2008 Sharp noble hops aroma with some nice crisp malt and creamy banana notes. Clear brown with a scoop of white ice cream on top that leaves nice lacing. Very clean flavour with just a touch of apple, that is not acetaldehydish, leading into some walnut and a crisp bitterness. Notes of hay. Light body, elevated carbonation, nutty finish. HermanW (485), Coevorden, Netherlands Jan 5, 2008 Gekocht bij Trinkgut Holzminden € 0,55.
Lekker bitter.
